I am now equipped to go online, and my gamecube is showing evidence that it can, in fact, connect (net info has been created on my main card). However, I'm still using my friend's Serial Number, Access Key and password. I can't go online now, or I'd be using his account. How do I change this to my own?? It was explained to me somewhere on this forum, but I couldn't find it...
I need to know an answer ASAP, as my gamecube is just doing nothing right now... once I get this final problem out of the way I can get online...
EDIT: I should mention that I signed up my hunter's license last night, but I didn't really make a "username..." I just put my SN/AK in, put in the relevant info and registered it... and now my cube is sitting at the login screen, but I don't have a username..... :ermm:

No... on the network options menu there is only UDP option, Provider option, and Purchase a Hunter's License. On the screen for Serial/Access Key, it only shows the current info, with no option to change it.
I managed to get online with my second card (RAmarl, HUnewearl, RAcast, FOnewearl), and ask around... what I really heard was, there was no way to do it. One person suggested deleting the network info, but that didn't help at all. What I noticed is, when I tried getting on with the second card it asked me for my SN/AK, and asked to create a password. I did this. But when I got online with the other card, it just connected - using my friend's SN/AK. I reset instead of choosing a ship that time. I wonder, if he cancels his accound and I try to use it, what does it tell me? Maybe then, it'll offer me that option to change my info?
The other question is, in what file is the SN/AK/Password stored? The Guild Card file? The System file? It can't be the character file, that'd make no sense. If I delete either of the other files, what else will that affect?
EDIT: AAAAAAAAAAAARGH!!!! The idiot friend, he told me to delete the wrong file, and it deleted my characters! All four of them!! 400+ hours of play, GONE. BAH!!
At this point I have another question: WHAT is possible using AR? I'm not asking how to do it here... but I'm asking if it's possible to custom-create you character's statistics, what materials they have used, etc... I just want everything back the way it was before this debacle. My items are backed up, but there's no replacement for character stats. Until then, I don't want to try to get online...

What characters did you lose, I hope you didn't lose the high leveled ones...

All four of the high leveled ones. Gone. Just plain freakin' GONE.
I need to get an AR, create new characters and re-create them the way they were. I have files saved with all their current statistics and number of materials used... I plan to recreate them down to the last stat point so there is no illegit activity involved. But I have no idea how... I realize that no one can say how on this board, but perhaps someone can send me an AIM message?
I am desparate here... I lost over 400 hours of work... and the $30 needed for an AR is insignificant to me... I just need someone to tell me how to use it (just, not on this forum)...

Ah darn... I would get some friends who might have an AR, buying one is somewhat of a waste.

*sigh* Well, after some thought, I've decided that I have no choice but to look at this as a "new" experience. I recreated all four characters and took my new RAmar online. Nobody was on, really, so I created my own game and got him to level 5. They now look slightly different, too. If anyone wants to play low-levels, please suggest a meeting place and time - I didn't see anyone low-leveled today... :ermm:

AR doesn't give custom stats but can give you lvl 200, or a semi-legit (it's not legit but more legit than lvl 200 if you see what I mean =/) way of increasing exp per monster.
As for your friend, didn't you realise it was your character files? I'm sure it'd say that on the GC screen....
I guess it's too late now anyway and you can input your own code?
On the DC version, the codes were also tied to one console, so chars on one console couldn't be played on another I think.... useless information but interesting none the less

He told me to delete the system file... I think it was the guild card I was supposed to delete. It said, creating new character file... old character file will be deleted. I couldn't stop it.
Got a question though: is it possible to have an online-only character? Even if I got my RAmar back to 80-ish using online games, would he be able to lead a Ruins run? I REALLY don't want to have to clear every level with all four characters again... :S

??? I don't know what you mean? If you go online only then when you try offline, you'll only have normal to play with. You have to clear/do offline levels then they become available online (apart from the actual difficulties which become available at different levels).
My advice to level fast is do Heat Sword runs until you can manage TTF. I'm a bit out of touch so this might not be the best solution, it's what I used to do though
