DMC3 is a good game. There is no questioning that. All I am saying is that it is effectively the same game as 1 with a different story and more weapons/enemies. The only reason I say 1 is better is because it gets bonus points for the original story.

I'm not sure I agree with any of you. In the first place, Devil May Cry's story really wasn't that original. The only thing that was even remotely surprising is that Nelo Angelo turned out to be your brother. Aside from that, everything else was pretty predictable. And secondly, Devil May Cry 3's action is so spectacular that even without out a story it would still beat the first one. Now, I do understand that the first one did make the series into what it is today, and I give it respect for that, but if you put that aside you can clearly see that Devil May Cry doesn't even come close to Devil May Cry 3.

Actually I think that while Devil May Cry 3 tried to back to it's original dark, Gothic roots, it didn't quite succeed. I think that the original was better simply because it began the series, it had some of the best actual gameplay, and it simply has a better aura to the game.

I have a weird feeling that I know you Necromancer.....My friends are here to haunt me...
And about the Devil May Cry thing, you cannot say that you don't agree with anyone, if you read the thread, Zero has stated that he likes the first one....either you didn't read the thread, or you just want to disagree... I like the 3 DMC because it is MUCH harder than the others..that is a mjor reason, and I like games that give me a challenge.. ![]()

If you read my post, you can easily see that I'm saying I don't agree with Zero. Now, like I said earlier, I understand that DMC was the original, and, for it's time, it was a great game. In fact, I still love playing it today. I'm just saying that DMC3 blows it out of the water. The action is intense, the game is very challenging like you said God-IX, and I love all the different styles you can fight with.
