...What exactly is beta testing? It's like that stuff Sega had those Japanese do for like 2 months before the actual release? Like that sign up you were talking about?

Yes, thats exactly what it is!

You sign-up to play the BETA version of the game, download the BETA version of the game, then play the BETA version of the game, and tell ST if there's any problems!

The BETA version will be a very basic version of the full game, as AERO has posted, it will have a small limit on the amount of people allowed in the lobbies at one time, and most likely also have very few stages, character bits, weapons, items, etc.

Lee, ask the Sonic Team guy under your bed when the sign-up is for the beta! Also ask if the beta characters will be kept when the real version of the game releases. Heck, let the poor guy out for a while and have him give us the details. He's probably getting lonely being stuffed under the bed for such long periods of time, you should really let him hang out with the Sonic Team members locked in the basement every once in a while.

But seriously, we need more details as soon as possible! (Excitement galore!)
