now its stuff like that that gets on my nerves this whole "No talking about DM" thing is out of hand, people have the freedom of speech. If the topic created riots or something then say so but if not then lift the rule, that kind of **** is just plain out stupid....

There was a thread as soon as he was banned discussing all of this, it came to a conclusion. After that, all the threads were simply spam. Therefore Sol had no choice but to make the announcement. What else could you say? "We want proof"? How many people have said that? The staff know everyone's stance over DM, simply repeating it doesn't get us anywhere. Think about what it would do for the forums if ever 1 in 2 threads were on the same topic?

when you exercise your power by banning/editing someone's post just because you can.......could do far more harm than good.......

No mod here would edit someone's post for no reason but to express their power. Get me proof.

leaving this thread open is more or less a way to try and keep anarchy from breaking out.......if a mod were to close this thread and disallow any members from posting their perpectives of some moderators than it would only show that staff are far too strict to be of any help to this site.......

We're both arguing the same point here. You say we're only keeping it open to maintain the calm, and that's correct, in a way. We let you have your own opinion, and are taking into account everything you're saying. If we didn't, you're right, people wouldn't like it. That's what a mod is for, to keep the peace. Don't confuse strict with unfair in that last sentence!

Finally, Gotien, you may notice I've edited your post... ...to remove bad language. There's lots of young members here, (bear with me now) imagine what it'd be like if Sol got a call from his host saying that that had a complaint from a parent, who's kid had been reading naughty words online, in a fansite for a game for all ages.

If I am one of the new staff members any of you take issue with, don't be afraid to tell me why. You may be against off-topic forum moderations, but when we're having the same thread pop up around twice every day, that had pretty much been dealt with, they're not exactly welcomed (not just for staff, but for people who weren't interested but still wanted to post in that forum, about other topics).

I am not a moderator of this forum, and do not visit it as often as those who are, but I'm sure they would have had correct reasons for any deletions.

Hey, but, Unlike Decs said there is a forum that doesn't have mods, just 3 admins and it is actually amazing how well it works. You see, when you dont restrict people, they don't feel the need to rebel to make themselves heard... Have you all forgotten that Kefka erased one of Sangas posts just because of some incorrect grammar? If he wants to talk like that im sure we can all understand, its not liek he was using '1337 speak' or anything. That is a major restriction on the freedom of speech, Im not going to churn out more evidence because isnt that enough? The post can I believe be found somewhere in the hunters guild, Im not going to look it up, Im sure you can find it. As a personal friend of Sangas, it really did annoy me. But still, if you guys think that's acceptable, to trash someone because they like a different dialect of english than you do, then fine. All he said to provoke this, he tells me, were two 'txt' words, "Coz" - because and "2" to. Now it doesn't take the brains of britain to understand that.

Um no offence intended by this, but sanga always speaks like that and it is annoying having to decipher what one is saying, because they are just too lazy too write in proper english, I mean what if someone was young and didnt speak engish very well because it wasnt their main language, and they would be wondering what the fuck hed be on about. After all this isnt a board just for english speakers

However I highly doubt Kef had that in mind when he edited, hes just someone who dislikes people who dont use proper grammar

I edited Kashima's post because it was impossible to read, and I told him to change his sig because it was over twice the allowed limit, and he had ignored two PMs.
Like decswxaqz said, there are rules, you obey them; if you don't, a moderator will ask you to. What would be the point of having rules if they're not to be followed ?

About Sanga's post, it was not "bad grammar", it was just not understandable, it was nowhere near English.
I don't mind internet speak, or even text speak, I don't like it, but I don't mind.
But his particular post was total gibberish, an effort has to be done, it must at least be readable.

And your post in that thread, A-H, was extremely out of place; either PM me or just don't say anything at all (especially since you spoke without knowledge of the matter). I don't mind explaining if you PM me, and I might even go back on a decision if you prove me wrong, but bitching about my decisions -- especially with so immature posts -- is the best way to get a warning.

You do NOT have to descipher what Sanga says, and he really isn't that bad. I disagree, I think that those are the wrong grounds for a post edit.

They [forum mods] are here for your benefit, so please don't have a go at them. If you have a problem with a moderator, PM or e-mail me.
If you have a problem with any moderator or admin, please email/PM Sol.
If you have a problem with a thread/post, please email decswxaqz.

and if you really do have a big problem with any member of staff, keep it out of the forums.
