My dad and I were talking about how I go on the forums and talk to people... and called it a way to join a chat room without getting in trouble from your parents, or som'n like that... but I say that a forum is much different from a chat room...i.e. you can get banned, you don't have to be on at the same time as another person in order to talk to them, there are rules...
So what do you think?
Is a forum just another chat room?

Lol! No, a chatroom is much different from a forum. The main thing is because a chatroom is all nitter natter in realtime, where as on a forum you can reply to something that someone has said like 2 years ago XD
On other bits, some chatrooms can play videos and music and such... you cant do that here without the use of links!

Lee pretty much stated everything. Chat rooms you talk to people live and instantly. Forums you talk, but not as quickly or as vaguely general as chat rooms. Most chat rooms, by the way, do have rules and ways of getting kicked. But, yeah. ^_^

Yeah I know they have rules and you can be kicked out... but what I meant was that forum rules are usually "stricter" which provides a better environment...

Chatrooms and forums consist of different accpects such as one has rules (already stated) and they have a more sence of community style, cause even though you dont know anyone soon you know everyone here, but for chatrooms they are just a one time thing. I think there is a difference, but they are the same cause you get to talk to people just not instant messaging though.

lol... I have said the same thing many a time... its nothing like a chat room... cos there are rules... (damn those rules... lol)

And on a forum you can edit/delete anything offensive too
