A really, really pedantic point here.

In French you would say 'tu parles anglais?' or 'vous parlez anglais?' - parlez is the form of the verb that goes with vous. You'd probably use vous in this instance to be polite, at least going by my French teaching anyway.

Yeah, a lot of French folk can speak English. But in my experience they much prefer it if you try to speak French, even if it isn't very good. I'm sure there are courses you can take or internet sites you can look up to help you, Ria.
