I'm not insulting religions I'm pointing out the redundancies of just Christianity, because, in most cases, Christians are the most uptight(But I can start on Judaism, Buddhism, Shintoism, Islam?). You want proof. Billie Grahm (Or some other televangelist) said that 9/11 happened because God was displeased with 'gays and feminists'........Yeah, that shows the intelligence of one of the sheep real well....

If you haven't noticed, the majority of atheists have higher intellects. I wonder why that is?

Or look at it this way. What classified the Dark Ages? THe fall of reason and logic along with the collapse of the Roman Empire. What occured then? An alarming resurgance of the Church......That's who rule during that time period. What happened during the Renaissance? The Church came very close to dying as REASON and LOGIC became a large part of many scholars way of life. You need proof? Galileo was put on house arrest for the rest of his life. Or maybe it was Copernicus. Either way, both made similar claims and both were excommunicated by the Church. For making the observations that we know today is fact: that Earth is NOT the center of the universe. If you read a Bible from back then it would tell you Earth WAS the center of the universe. If God if infallible, so therefore is his word. I have just proven God doesn't exist. The tree that Eve ate from. No one seems to look at the fact that it was a tree of knowledge. Everyone just looks at the fact that God said it was evil, and to eat it was evil. So knowledge is inheritly evil? Then everything we have is evil. Including the computers we have, Knowledge is evil, Knowledge creates technology. Using technology is evil. SO....I can surmise from your Bible, that you all are ALL sinners and will burn in eternal damnation when you die....Like I said your God, and all Gods are laughable at best.

whats loveline?... probobly of no intreast to me. i've never read the bible or beleived in god(s) and when some one first brought up juesus a few years ago i was like what the hell is that?! well i should stop replieing to this thread

It's not a flame war.....I'm justing stating my opinions. With the discussion of death naturally it goes to religion it HAS to when the topic goes 'What do you think happens when you die?'

By the way you guys. I use to be Baptist. I realize when I became an Atheist.........I went to a Power Team performance thing. And towards the end lady goes. 'Now raise your hands and show if you accetp Jesus as you Lord and saviour' or something like that. And EVERYONE rose their arms and they started singing a song. I was like 'WTF is wrong with these people?' and that's when I became an atheists.......

By the way you guys. I use to be Baptist. I realize when I became an Atheist.........I went to a Power Team performance thing. And towards the end lady goes. 'Now raise your hands and show if you accetp Jesus as you Lord and saviour' or something like that. And EVERYONE rose their arms and they started singing a song. I was like 'WTF is wrong with these people?' and that's when I became an atheists.......

I can see why it seems frivolous but it makes a powerful statement about how easy some people are to lead. I became the way i am when i noticed how those around me who were supposedly right with the lord conducted themselves my motto to people when they say im going to hell is this yes but ill get there honestly where as youll wake up like how the f*** did i end up here. Someone telling me im going to heaven or hell for a strict set of reasons seems wrong so i can live a life filled with honor and good deeds but still go to hell because i dont share your beliefs? Fine then i wouldnt want to get to heaven at the cost of my integrity while on earth

Its interesting how death can bring out the rationality in some and all other negative emotions in others. I would like to not see this thread get closed as so many other philosophical ones in the past have i would like to ask all parties to please refrain from debating about religion at least which one or lack there of is correct and focus on the topic at hand here which is death and what all it entails. If parties wish to discuss religion there is a pm feature on this site or areas called general chat and the void where new threads can be made for now please heed double edges warning and post responsibly if for nothing else out of respect for the person who started this thread with good intentions
