Sony PSP VS Nintendo DS
#51
opinions are fun to add in though. ^^
Either way, psp has more factual upsides than DS. only thing i like about DS is the way it does first person shooters. it reminds me of keyboard/mouse

I could do the exact same thing and pump it with my opinions, then the DS would win by miles.

Although I am a Nintendo fanboy, I think the two are actually pretty equal. They should make a DSP, with two super-huge screens. Tongue

Yeah, you might as well try something new, instead of the same old stuff.

Valero... Over half of your points are not actually good/bad things, despite you saying so, or are not even true...
Hey, I can still..

Wow, make fun of Mario and the Nintendo junkies just flock to the scene. As for why have a handheld ps2... Well, while we're at it, let's get rid of cell phones and cordless phones. I mean, things are so much cooler when they're tied down, right? And to say DS is cooler would mean one or more of three things: you're a nintendo junkie, you dissapprove of the PSP battery life (which, btw, is overexaggerated. they have more of 6 hours of gameplay, people, it was a rumor started by a nintendo junkie), or are just plain ignorant. Not only does psp haver more functions (say it doesn't and you really ARE ignorant), but it also has a higher potential for games. Nintendo is the kind of business that feels the need to become involved in almost every game put on their systems. Andif that happens, all of the games will feel the same. Platformers will make be just like they have been- Nintendo's second best skill. Sports will all feal as though they are just EA clones with Mario in place of athletes. RPGs will all be kiddy-themed or will be rare items like Skies of Arcadia and PSO I & II. That is what will happen to every game going to DS. Before, game makers didn't have a choice when it came to handhelds, cause that's all there was- a nintendo monoply of handhelds. But now that Sony, a company that hasn't tampered with enough games to even gain a 3rd digit on its number, has made a handheld the game makers now have a new obvious choice. In addition, game makers will have to program their games to suit the stylus, otherwise it defeats the true purpose of DS (watch a DS comercial and tell me I'm wrong).

Also, as if that wasn't enough to make sense to biast nintendo junkies, I think this next part will be enough to persuade you people, since this is a PSO site. Phantasy Star I & II has a good chance of going to PSP, and no chance of going to DS. How do I know this? I'm a gamer with nothing to do and broadband internet. Sonic Team decided Nintendo was full of retards after the President himself stated "I beleive the future of video gaming is not online." Sure he changed his mind, but I'm pretty sure Sonic Team doesn't give a flying rat's ass, seeing as how they are still developing PSU for ps2. If you're more of a PSO junkie than a nintendo junkie, I suggest not wasting money on DS and getting a PSP. If not, have fun with your plumbers. ^^

Right... I'm afraid you got back into that old habit of just making up your facts.

Lol! Although the PSP is a great gadget, i just feel the need to criticise your post Tongue

The games for the PSP are going to be exactly the same as the PS2 versions - Its exactly the same machine with exactly the same buttons and the same, and all those games are always going to be the same ol' thing. Nintendo on the other hand with the Nintendo DS are turning games around and trying something new and innovative. Developers dont HAVE to use the touch screen, but obviously by making sure it does (Even if its some little fun bits) it opens the game/brand up to what you could do in the game. Take the new 'The Sims 2' game which is coming to every single format possible (Well... what would you expect from EA eh? Tongue) including PSP & DS... The PSP version and the PS2 version are identical... the DS version however also lets you use the touch screen to design (draw) your own wallpapers/clothing colour patterns/paintings, etc. and you can also use it to move people around (I think) and, like the sims, select sim options. Its kinda of like the PC version, but a lot more 'involved', and also of course, not as great graphically - Another point to raise!

With the Nintendo DS, Nintendo are trying to show that a game dosnt have to have great graphics to make the game a great. The DS is also purely a games console, where as the PSP is much more of a gadget then a games device, because its got so many more quirky features. Its a big expensive mp3 player that can hold such a limited amount of songs its not worth it. Its a strange photo player (I cant see the point in that really - It only shows photo's you've taken with a Sony Digital Camera, which all have screens on them anyway!). And its a expensive portable film player where you have to buy the movies again seperately which is gonna cost you a hell of a lot when you could just buy a DVD and watch it when you're at home on a nice big screen with lots of sound without worrying about battery life! Yes, the battery does last about a whole 6 - 8 hours in reality - Hopefully something Sony have improved for the EU release!

Basically its just an expensive gadget thatll play films (Once you buy them again), music (About 10 songs!), photo's (...wow), and multi-format released games. ^_^
