I never said new ideas was bad. I said that it complicates programming. As for buying the addons for DS, and it being cheaper than PSP even still... Well, you live in Europe. I'm in America, and things gets here before they do there so I guess you don't know yet. PSP will soon be dropped to the price of the DS. The price-tag for PSP right now is the release tag, so people who want it sooner pay more, (which is why I don't have mine yet). As for the memory cards costing so much, PSP should come with a card already, with only 32 mb. These 2 512 mb cards are well worth the price, considering the average game requires 2-5 mbs of space on the card. mp3s are small, and the movies will just have to be smaller resolution, and that's only if you feel like not paying more money for over a gig when the average game or song uses 2-5 mbs. And the saving movies is only if you don't want to buy the PSP movie.
But I just guess things are different in America, the second largest consumer in video games. Say that's not true and tell me why games are released here second. And I HAVE a Gamecube, and I keep watch for good games. I think I already own all the good ones, making my Gamecube library about 3 games, soon to be 4 (I'm no nintendo junkie, but to deny the power of Zelda is just retarded.)
Killer 7, Timesplitters, SC2, MGS, and PSO are all on other systems as well, meaning they are not GC originals, meaning I could play them on better, more mainstream systems. Resident Evil is also a franchise that is not only on GC. If I really wanted to, I could get the same experience from a different system. Among the games you mentioned, only Metroid Prime and Baten Katios are original and fun. F-Zero is another racing game, and Metroid Prime 2 is a clone of the first one with the suit thing added. It didn't even look like it had better graphics.
Gamecube does have some good games, but not enough to keep it alive. The DS may survive, but when you think about it, Nintendo is being retarded about it. They made a handheld aside from their Gameboy, and claim that Gameboys will continue being made. This means they made 2 handheld systems that WILL CLASH WITH EACHOTHER. Someone's getting senile, and its the president of Nintendo.
And I will admit, I still play my Gamecube. I'm playing Super Smash Bros. Melee right now. However, that's getting off topic, back to the BS and PSP.
DS will score good with kids and Pokemon fanatics. Also it will go well with people who still haven't grown tired of the repetitive plumber platforming. And Zelda fanboys will definately get it. However, that's not enough of the crowds to keep it going.
I'm not as narrow-minded as you may think. I just prefer games that I can enjoy and deploy my skills, such as Kingdom Hearts. What's that? Kingdom Hearts? Didn't that game have Disney in it, making it half-kiddy? I play games targeted at all kinds of people. Mario games become repetitive, Pokemon was funner when the graphics were horrible and not nearly as many attacks and monster to memorize, Pikmin... Nothing to say. Spent a week playing the first one.
On other systems, though, the possibilities are endless, mainly because Sony doesn't try to control what games come out. Same with Xbox. I don't play GC because it uses the same things over and over, aside from the multiplatform games. I will play maybe 1 or 2 games on DS. Yes, that's right, I'm buying a DS. Why? I collect systems
. I have almost every system everreleased, and Nintendo's flawed handheld will not be missing from it. But the games I will be playing are first persons, because that is where the DS truly shines, and the FF: Crystal Chronicles that is to be released. But you know what? I'm buying PSP first. Why? It's better, and worth my money.
Don't need to, they're my opinions. Also, I suggest you try to understand numbers. 1024/120= 8.53mbs for $1. That's a pretty nice deal if you ask me.

Quote:Just to prove you further wrong, here are 10 'non-kiddy' good Gamecube games: Killer7, Resident Evil 4, Timesplitters: Future Perfect, Metroid Prime, Metroid Prime 2, F-Zero, Baten Kaitos, Soul Calibur 2, Metal Gear Solid, Phantasy Star Online.

You're missing out a lot of top games by thinking of Nintendo games only as Mario though.
