i read a guide on here that said with lvl 30 j and z and lvl 30 s and d on a fomar with no equipment they can do more damage than any other class with no equipment. so are they really that good at melle or are they just overrated?

with the right equip they can be pretty good. But then again they wont be doing more than HUcast's. But with there S&D + J/Z they're alot more self reliant.

I like FOmars because are versatile. They can melee and cast techs cast techs at the same time (Especialy if you have a fist type weapon). With level 30 S&D their melee powers are pretty darn good. The only bad point for me is that there quite hard at the begining where they cant melee at all and their techs are quite a bit weaker than the other FO's

NOOOOOO!!!!!!!! SEBASTIAN!!!!!!! WHAT HAVE YOU DONE?!!!!!!!!!! Another one of these threads?
I think Fomar's are good at melee, as long as they have good weapons with hit%'s. Of course, they'll never really match a Hucast... That's why Hucast starts with HU for Hunter, and Fomar starts with FO for Force. They can do good enough, and they can do decent techniques. They are not spectacular at either, they are just good at both. So you can use techs and weapons equally well, it adds some variance to the game.... They're fun to use, that's for sure.

Very fun, especially with the unique animations. Mine isn't even level 30 yet, but I have fun meleeing with him. When you do cast a tech, make it a Gi tech if possible since FOmar gets a boost on them.
Now, for SOLOING, a FOmar will do more damage than some characters. Support techs were designed with melee characters in mind (which is why they aren't that useful on non-melee forces). But a solo character who can melee AND cast level 30 support techs is good... it's like the difference between doing damage as a HUmar or RAmar, and a HUnewearl or RAmarl; the latter has to cast more support techs to be effective in soloing, but their damage becomes good by doing it. I dunno how the FOmar stacks up to them in this respect yet, since mine is under lv30... but in multi, yes, HUs will own the FOmar in damage since everyone is using the same shifta (presumably the FOmar's).

:/ its not meant to be "another one of those threads" my fomar is only 40 so its not too late to decide if he will be cast or melle.
(casting is kinda annoying cuz you drain tp ALOT.....:/)

Dont bother just casting or just meleeing. Do a mix of both.
