Killing with FOmarls isnt what you do, a FOmarl really is a support goddess, and if you're online you should concentrate on helping your team mates with s/d, resta, anti and j/z on enemies.
If your not online...well you really shouldnt play with a FOmarl, try FOnewm.

Ah but whatever FO you play as it's so satisfying to lunge a fireball at the enemy ^_^

True... burning enemies to crisps is quite satisfying.
You don't play well with a Fomarl though, unless you're being the support-slave in an online game. Fomars are statistically better than them, so if you want to stick with a semi-melee Force, you should use the Fomar.
Too legit to quit.

FOmarls only support, sometimes they may melee or stun enemies, but they suck at meleeing, and stunning will lead to damage cancel. Playing alone, you have enough MST / ATA / ATP to manage, but you won't do well soloing.

FOmarls are a pain, because they can look cool, but soloing they are not as effective as the other Forces. However, they are very strong as support, so if you can play multiplayer somehow (either offline or online) you'll be perfect support.
My tips:
o Get yourself a Resta Merge - if your teammates want Shifta and Deband, tell them to come to you. Resta is very capable long range and can save a team member from dying.
o Abuse Jellen and Zalure. Not only do they make things easier for the heavy guys, but they also mean that you'll recieve EXP from the enemies without having to actually damage them.
o Try /TP units over /Mind units because TP is more useful than actual technique strength when you'll be casting so many support spells.
o Use an MST boosting weapon such as a wand to further increase your TP.
o Conserve your fluids, but make sure that you have enough TP to cast Resta when needed.
o I'd not include any attacks on my customised menu - if your teammates are nice then they can open boxes for you. If they refuse, refuse to heal them. Otherwise, I'd have Resta, Anti, Jellen, Zalure, Shifta, Deband and Reverser/Ryuker. The final choice is up to you - you can use Ryuker offline to warp up a two player party if they'd otherwise die, or use Reverser if there are more than two people on your party. However, if these are easily accesible from your quick menu (L/R + Y) you needn't worry and could substitute Attack for opening boxes.
That's my opinion anyway.

Better yet, equip a Striker Of Chao.
