Well it does have a different style of play with the guns, and it has a darker feel to it.

Most people that say "oldies were better" say so because they suck at the new ones >_>
I really like Shadow the Hedgehog, it's a really nicely made game, with an interesting gameplay. A bit short, IMO, I got all 71 "A" ranks and all keys but one (how to get it is a mystery), and I never read FAQs or walkthroughs. How many people saying "they added guns, eww" actually played for more than two hours? What I really like in Shadow, is that they mixed all three gameplay types from Sonic Adventure 2 -- speed (Sonic/Shadow), research (Knuckles/Rouge), shoot (Tails/Eggman) -- into one character, and it is a success, I must say. I see nothing wrong with this game (too easy?), and this is something rare to say, lately. Ragol.co.uk Item Database Ragol.co.uk Drop Charts

adrina_kellers Wrote:What do you mean not a true sonic game.1. Sonic is in there, but not as a main character. Also, the goal isn't to reach point B as fast as possible. 2. Rings are there, but they aren't emphasized at all. Also, losing rings is different, since you only lose 10 rings if you're hit, not all of them. 3. Actually the levels are pretty dark. And that's a crappy checklist, since it doesnt involve gameplay at all

I loved Adventure and Adventure 2. Heroes not as much, and I like Shadow... but they aren't as fun as say, Sonic 3 & Knuckles or Sonic 2. Everything was right in those games as far as I'm concerned, from gameplay to music. And I don't suck in the 3D ones either. I beat all the missions in Adventure 1 in about 4 days, all A's in Adventure 2 in about 2 weeks (shorter when I got the cube version). I didn't have the patience with Heroes, and I got bored of Shadow after doing the Final Story. Not saying that Shadow was bad, but I played the levels so much that I didn't feel like going back and getting all A's right away.

You obtained all 180 Emblems in SA2 in two weeks? lol...
Several Shadow the Hedgehog stages are really brightly-coloured (Digital Circuit, Mad Matrix, Circus Park, Glyphic Canyon, Sky Troops, Iron Jungle, Lava Shekter, I probably forgot some). It never was the game's goal to go from point A to point B as fast as possible in SA1 or SA2, especially not in SA2, where points mattered much more than time. The whole premise of the series was to run as fast as possible, really. The enemies and emeralds just gave it more depth. That's why more "classic" gamers prefer Sonic Adventure over SA2, since it kept that emphasis on speed

Proof that this is a real Sonic game - THERE IS A CASINO LEVEL.
Case closed. I prefer the original Sonic games for the simplicity. And the fact that I rule at them. (I'll often get a Continue every Act in Sonic 2). Sonic Heroes returned to the multi-level style of play, and I love it for that. (Even if you do have to complete Team Rose's story to unlock the end.) (Plus, it's a Sonic game because there is a haunted level as well.) [URL="www.cardrevolution.headplug.com"]

Aw...no Japanese? I always change the game to japanese...I'm learning it, and sometimes, on Adventure 2 at least, it was a bit different from the subtitles...hee hee.
