Metroid Prime: Hunters
#1
Now there is a very apparent reason that this game was delayed almost a year for its release. Currently, it's been the first game to utilize the Nintendo DS graphics to quite some impressive heights, showing us that the DS may potentially have even better graphics than the N64, even.

Regardless, does anyone else have this game? It's an absolute buy. Being the first FPS for the DS, this game also utilizes the Wi-fi function, which was also a fine reason for the delay. This is definitely not lax wi-fi either, like previous games. Metroid Prime: Hunters has a very complex and very enjoyable wi-fi system. With multiple rules to choose from, finding opponents is much like mariokart, with the exception that you can actually exchange friend codes. Indeed, like popular word, the Wi-fi aspect of the game actually leads me to enjoy it. Personally, I never liked Metroid. I thought it was simply a very feeble attempt to try to outshine Megaman, which of course, never happened, even now.

Online, or in versus mode, players have the ability to choose from 8 different Hunters, Samus included. Between each of these characters, each has a different set of abilities and weakness/strength. Each hunter represents a certain element, Samus being the "Mario" of them. This adds a fun twist to multiplayer and to wi-fi.

Well, I don't really know what I can say, else. Does anyone have this game? We can elaborate more for those who are seeking to buy it.

The Metroid Prime Series is NOT A FPS... It is a First Person adventure game. Even so that does not ruin it's sheer brilliance. A DS I have not but the first game i'll get will (Probably) be this.
Anyone caught smoking at Layer Road will be buried in the
centre circle by the forking groundsman, with only their head
showing, and left there during the second half.
Previous threats of electrocution, being made to listen to Will
Young and being hung from the floodlights have
failed to discourage all the smokers.

If Cardiff players had to stand and pay respects to an English national anthem, would they? I don't think so.
But Arsenal players manage to do it.

You shoot. You can basically do nothing but shoot. It's an FPS.

In the Interview in NOM #148 it clearly says that The Prime Series is not an FPS, It is (excuse me for the Shortening down) an FPA game.

Very enjoyable game, not so much replay value for single player, but Versus mode, definitely. Think Goldeneye for the N64.

I don't care what a magazine says about the game. All you do in it is shoot. Maybe sometimes you will roll into a ball and bomb crap, but then it's back to shooting stuff out of your arm. Look, I never liked Metroid, but I know what a game is when I play it.

Hehe. Well, it's a good example. Even with the ability to pick up certain affinity weapons, some weapons faring better for certain hunters than the others. Samus has an advantage on missiles, Stylux has an advantage on that electric weapon, forgot the name, ETC. But the pinnacle of this game is the versus mode, so hopefully you can get a wi-fi connection.
