Wait just a minute... My file got corrupted just 30 minutes ago. I've tried every "method" here to fix it, but I've had no luck. I first tried deleting the guild card. It still asked me to delete my character file when I turned it back on. I then attempted to transfer my character to another memory card on multiplayer, but a message saying it was corrupt prevented me. Now I'm getting my negative feelings back about going online. Someone please help me.

Nothing anyone can do, these methods have worked for some people. They arent going to work 100% though.

It's a good thing that was only a test. I turned off the GCN while saving on purpose (with a test character on a fresh memory card). I did lose a monogrinder that I found in a box though...
So does FSOD-X happen often online or what?

I remember when I played online U.S Xbox versions 1&2, I got FSOD'd SO much Sometimes I would get online and only have MESETA ON ME because I put it in the bank the time before I would go online...(but I definitely learned my lesson on why not to just prance around the lobby and join any game I see fit) I LOST MY beloved ANGEL HARP!!!(Everone GAsps and Shrieks) And you should have seen me when I thought I lost the Yazzy

No it doesnt really happen often. I played for a very long time and only got corrupted once. It does depend on luck though (not the skill!).

It was all the double saves fault. ST had the wonderful idea to implement a second save when joining a game online. I was unlucky enough to freeze during it.

But luckily, they took out the double save. But... Then they put it back in for some obscure reason like "It will stop duping".
Open your eyes ST, do you really think that matters now? Myabe that would have been a good plan, like, 2 years ago... but not now

So I shouldn't go Online with valuable characters? Does equiping and depositing things really save them from regular FSOD?
