Charge VS Beserk
#1
ok, i dont want this turning into a massive flame war with noobs going "ZOMFG! CHARGE R BETA LOZLZ!!' and the experienced players going 'ZOFMG!! NOOB AL3RT!!' (which is why i just wrote that Tongue)

BUT

does anyone know the value of beserks more accurateness? everyone knows serk is more accurate than charge, but can someone put a value on it? whats better, charge vulcans w/50 hit, or zerk vulcans w/ 45 hit? 40 hit? 35 hit? how far does the difference go?

Berserk on mechguns is suicidal, for real.

And Charge Vulcans is the ultimate n00b weapon, I cannot think of one weapon that respects the team less.

I'd say Berserk is about twice as accurate as Charge -- note I'm only talking about the accuracy of the special itself.

How does using a particular weapon gain or lose respect? It does no harm to them, and as long as the weapon does damage what does it matter? Rather illogical to respect someone more if they use a different weapon.

using a TJS will get you called a n00b hacker.
using a snow queen will get you called n00b ranger.
using psyco wand will get you called n00b force.
Honestly the only weapon I use online is my s-rank katana, my s-rank handgun and sometimes a Soul Banish.
There are a ton of weapon stigmas, I, prefer charge myself.

I think Kefka more meant that the Charge Vulcans have a tendancy to steal a lot of EXP away from other team members. (Meaning, they keep killing off stuff before others get a chance.)

If you're going to play as a team, everyone needs to respect the others enough to let everyone get sufficient EXP, otherwise it's absolutely no fun for the one who's missing out.

:O :O :O
I ACTUALLY AGREE WITH KEF ON SOMETHING!?
:O :O :O

All kidding aside, IMO the only people who should be allowed to get away with using zerk, spirit or charge mechs are FOmar/FOmarl (or the newman FOs if you're crazy enough to make them power-FOs). My FOmar uses a 35h Vise (currently looking for one with more hit, on occasion) for his mech, and although he's not in Ultimate yet, once he gets there I'm relatively sure he won't be stealing any kills from anyone. Tongue FOmarl especially, due to her rather sucky stats, should be allowed to use a high-hit Vise IMO.

But HUs should not use them because they're neglecting their support roles (that being, to get in the fray and keep the enemy's attention), and RAs should not use them because RAs have much better options... and even if they didn't, I should hope that, to use the going term, the RA should have a bit more respect for the team (and for himself, and his otherwise-pitiful sense of style) than to whore a charge vulcan.

That's all I'm gonna say, visit the link above if you want more ranting. ;[

It's not respecting the person who uses the Charge Vulcans, it's the person who uses Charge Vulcans respecting others in the team. The mere fact of using Charge Vulcans is disrespecting the entire team, especially as a Hunter.

In my opinion if they weren't meant to be used they would not have been placed in the game or made so effective.

But yes, they are disrespecting the team as a whole because they make one individual too strong. Hunters should be tanking in melee Tongue

Many rooms in PSO are so small that there's not much point in using a ranger over a hunter with charge vulcs and this fact in itself means that if you play using charge vulcans you are calling the rest of your team redundant. And stealing all the exp. Not a good idea when they're the guys watching your back.

They're fine weapons for solo, though.

I couldn't agree more Anti. Tongue Whenever I come across a Berserk or Charge spamming, distance weapon on a Hunter (especially HUcasts...) if no one else can support them, they're certainly not getting Shifta, Deband, or Resta from me!

Typical stock response for justifying anything cheap, people need to stop using it kthx.

It's up to the person who uses the item - be it Charge Vulcans or Berserk Needles (both can be incredibly cheap depending on how they're used) - to NOT play the game in a way that makes people cry out "broken." Why? Because the other players in the game are putting in just as much time as you, and they deserve a competitive share of exp even if they're not using "LOL UBER" weaponry. Within reason; I mean, a melee force should not be expected to get as many kills as a HU or RA, nor would anyone who uses novelty weapons for the sake of style. What I'm saying is that sometimes it's incredibly aggravating for people who try to put some style into their arsenal along with the stats to see all their work be rendered insignificant by a weapon bought from the shops in five seconds. You won't find me sticking around in such a game for very long, if at all.
