Charge VS Beserk
#11
This is why, NetNomad, I made the rest of my post. I wasn't justifying using charge weapons in multiplayer mode, only in solo mode. Kthx

I have never used any of these (and CERTAINLY don't ever plan on going near them!), so I can't answer the original question of this thread about the values and hit % and whatnot, but I can say something! both of these guns are annoying in certain aspects of a game, and good in others, of course depending on who you are. I agree that any one of these guns would be a great solo weapon for doing major damage and not taking any (not like the game is fun that way anyway...) but in a team they're just plain...inconsiderate. charge is aweful because of its major damage and insane attack speed, leaving the other people in the team experience...less. beserk is aweful because (in my experience, at least) the person using this weapon NEVER EVEN TRIES TO RESTORE HEALTH. the charge vulcs sacrifice meseta, and no one on a team cares about how much meseta someone else has (unless they're so ineffective at using their charge strategy that they actually ask for more meseta, which has happened to me) but when you sacrifice HP, someone has to cover for you if you don't die immedeatly after beserking the hell out of enemies. but who wants to anyway? these are the people that kill your chances of leveling up...

Exactly. If you constantly have to heal someone, you can't hit any enemies. Then they complain when they die because "Oh noes the greedy force wants some exp and isnt doing their job by doing nothing but spamming resta!"

...

Anyone who thinks like that has missed the point because by using such weapons they are not supporting the team as they should themselves.

yeah, and lets forget about constanly healing...how about constantly moon atomizer and reversering! that's even more annoying!

Or a mixture of the two. If zerk had a 10% chance of confusing the user (because hey, they're beserk) and you had to add anti into that equation then it would be really annoying.

Cue Kef returning to this thread with "forces do best by supporting, LOL". Tongue

Maybe Kef enjoys mashing the resta button with his FOney, but I personally don't. When I FO, my first priority is S/D, and J/Z where appropriate. After that, the FO is free to do damage however they like, IMO... techs, meleeing, mech usage, whatever. With a FO you have more of a license to use otherwise-cheap weapons because your stats suck, as I already mentioned. As for Resta, I do believe it is necessary for the FO to make a good faith effort to keep his eye on the health bars of the rest of the party, to heal when necessary, and to make Resta his/her primary duty in certain rooms (such as EN/PW battle-rooms). But you can't expect the best case scenario every time, and it's not going to kill you to use a trimate if you've wandered out of the FO's Resta range and landed yourself in trouble (or if you're berserking).

I think the power of your techs should mean you don't need to use cheap weapons as a fo. But in any case, I'd agree with the rest of that. In fact spamming ra/gi can help the party a lot because it stuns enemies before they can attack the melee players. I always make sure the party is nice n' drugged up on S/D and the enemies on J\Z. I resta where appropriate. Zerking bosses is useful.

All you need is one hit on the boss to gain exp so resta spamming in a boss isnt a problem for me. If you can't get a hit on a boss before someone shred-mechs it then you're pretty lame Tongue

Kefka Wrote:I'd say Berserk is about twice as accurate as Charge -- note I'm only talking about the accuracy of the special itself.

so 25 hit zerk vulcs= 50 hit charge vulcs when using the special?

and yes, i am planning to use zerk vulcs. before anyone goes 'OMFG!! LVL 154 RAmar SPAMMING ZERK VULCS! NOOB ALEEERRT!!' i'll just say this:

they're on my FOney

YA RLY

have you played online? O.o

@ sephiroth:
"using a TJS will get you called a n00b hacker.
using a snow queen will get you called n00b ranger.
using psyco wand will get you called n00b force."
ZOMG! TJS! RARE!! NOOB! ZOMG P WAND! RARE! NOOB!

err? snow queen also has the disadvantage of being a 1 hit / combo. none of those weps are noobish. (unless hacked)

A Force that does not support is a crappy Force, that's not debatable.

But people spamming Berserk so much they're not letting the Force do anything else aren't much better.

There is one thing that never fails as for recognizing a terrible Force, it's one that pretends they can deal damage.
Forces pretending they should deal damage instead of supporting = Forces of the worst kind.
The only time a Force can do damage of his own is when the team does not need him/her, no other.
