By cut off you mean the power goes out or what?

sounds like disc read errors to me. how long does it take to go 'brrrrr' when you start up the GC? it should be really not very long at all, if its longer, its probably the laser. dont worry, theres loads of guides of how to re focus it online around.

Maybe it's that the game and gamecube is still working, but your scart cable is malfunctioning? Unless your gamecube has actually completely shut off, otherwise then yea it is an internal error of some kind.

If Cye manages to see anything GC related at all on screen then it's not a scart issue. If it's a lazer reading error, it wouldn't be able to boot the game in the first place. It sounds like it's toast, my friend - unless you can give more details.

no, you get that occassionally in game. also, 'every time' seems to be pretty ewwy.

Well if it's every time it's not occasionally is it?
Also, in-game it will tell you it's a disc read error.

Ok the system simply turns off while I'm playing a game but the fan that cools the system down is still running. At first I thought it was a loose connection but all the cables were securely in. I tried verious games but the problem keeps occuring. I can get it to work for like 5 minutes then the power goes out.

By simply turning off, do you mean, the power light goes off, and the picture goes out? If so, although it may seem un related, and I know it's totally out there, but no use in repeating what's said before, you wouldn't happen to be using a non-nintendo gc controller, would you? <<

Wow your right that's pretty much it, the LCD and the picture cuts out. I have one non-nintendo gc controller that I use on it. You don't think that the controller had to do with it do you?
