Why do you play PSO?
#11
i play as it gives me something to do, not that im addicted to it Wink or am i aswell lol

there so much to do. for example the items. there loads. i wanna get them all. it will take a while so there ages of playing in it left.

my friends always wanna b the best character and have the best items. i think it just ruins it when they say stuff like that. ovi i would like to have nice stuff myself but if they get something new or get a level higher than me they wont forget to tell me. thats for sure
my characters

FOnewerl (element girl) lv152,redria
HUcast (samurai) lv 102,varidia
RAsomethin (shredder) lv 85, bluefull
FOmar (tattie) lv 94, pinkel

im on the psycho wand hunt. cant c me gettin it but u never know. almost had it. a photon drop came out of my redria gran sorcerer grrrrrr

Not quite understanding whatcha getting at there o_O

Anyway, there are other reasons I play the game I guess - if I think about it -_-;

I did at first enjoy the combat style. Whilst it isn't true free combat it's not exactly turn based. The combos I actually used to find a challenge for some weapons. I must have been a stupid challenged kid.

I did enjoy the sound track before it bored me to death. But that isn't because it's not a good sound track, it's because I have heard it over and over and over...

I remember being a newbie seemed to add layers to the game. The first rare I found on my Greenill Hucast called DUSK was Varista. I was absolutely amazed that I had found the so called rare and that is where the red crate addiction started.

I needed more and more and it didnt even matter if I sometimes got the same weapon Big Grin

Apart from the Wals rifle. That haunted me soooo much -_-;

What I'm trying to say is yes there are loads of reasons to play PSO but most of them are old news for me. But there's nothing like an online FFA scramble to get that red crate in Ep 4. It just makes you feel great when you swipe it ^_^ or maybe I'm just mean <_<;

The bosses I thought were imaginative, but I was dissapointed in ep 2 and 4 when in ult there were no visual or other changes to the monsters/bosses apart from things like tech resistances.

When I found hunters and rangers too boring to play with because the combo systems got old (and so did missing -_-) the force class kept me going much longer because of the many spells to upgrade, learn and use. I still play force today when I occasionally wander onto BB (but my PC locks up after I close PSOBB down so thats not often).

Some of the online quests were cool and strange, like Dream messenger and meeting random past ST characters from Sonic and KNiGHTS was fun.

Then there was chatting in the lobby, gogoball and chair races Wink

fun times...

The reason why I play PSO... that's a good question normally I would say that it's for the story, but not with this game. When I first started back in ver.2 for the dreamcast I wanted to find out exactly what happened to Red Ring Rico. I played it for hours on end, discovering that there's more to the game rather than just finding Rico. The enviroments, the monsters, and the people I've met online added to the experence of PSO. When EP 1&2 came out I was alittle depressed that a had retire my ver.2 character but I got to create new characters, see new monsters and pick up rare weapons. So I basicly play to experience PSO.

Lance, why is it that you want to get stronger and stronger? What is it that drives you for it?

I often have a lot of small goals, such as advancing my characters through the difficulty modes. I have weapons that I am hunting because I'd quite like them, or are interested in knowing what they look like. That's why I piped for my Heart of Poumn with a RAcaseal!

I, uh, play PSO because it distracts me from everyday life and gives me a nice break where I can just enjoy myself! I thought that's what video games were for? <<

To become 1337 pWnz duh! Tongue

And Mini Bert you can learn lots of thing in PSO that will help you in real life to!

... like umm... Never accept money to go buy a cake for someone - even if it's their wedding (curse you addicting food!)

Shouting random words makes fireworks appear on certain days of the year.

Always kill rare animals for shiny boxes and never try to kill your resident god of death without bringing your doll collection... Because they... Bring you back to life...

Don't buy guns at the store, find your own in the trash and random warehouses - they work better.

You can survive multiple photon blade attacks ...

...

Oh yeah, and it teaches you that just like angry bartles, ignoring real life problems wont make them dissapear Tongue You'll just end up screaming "moon meeeee!" and thats never good.

This one moves me xD

You also have to account for the fact PSO is overly addictive too....so it's hard to get rid of xD

I find that PSO is addictive for a while, then it passes out of my system until I get an urge again. That urge is coming on at the moment though...
