The Royalty
#1
Well, sorry If I can't post such thing here Sad .

But I'm not from UK and I always wondered how people in UK see the Royalty. As far as I know the old have a great respect for the Royalty, but I wanted to know how the younger people see it. Since this is an international forum, but with an UK domain, I thought I could ask this here. If I can't ask this type of thing, please lock this topic.

I see it like this:

It costs us tax money to have them around...

I never read about them...

I never watch them...

They irritate me and I dont care what happens to any of them.

- I want my money back (And I havent paid jack yet, so they must be worthless!)

They represent a negative stereotype and all that is old-fashioned and traditional in this country. I say to hell with tradition. XD

They're not worth the money we spend on them, and I don't like the idea that these people are our figureheads merely by birth. It smacks of the days when the class you were born into was a bigger factor in your life.

And actually they are not our figure-heads unless we accept them as such. At the most I accept them as cheap entertainment that... Isn't entertaining.

As you have said SangeYasha, we are of a UK domain, and therefore, all of us here at Ragol.co.uk couldn't love the Royal Family anymore then it is to love people you can't touch or go anywhere near. It's all about British Pride, it just brings a tear to my eye sometimes, gosh darnit :'(

By what I'm seeing, or people love the Royalty, or hate it. Well, about the taxes, it must be kind of frustrating if you don't have pride in the Royalty.

I actually find very cool the UK having it (not the Royalty, but the fact that UK has a Royalty.) I mean, it's one of the things that makes England and the UK look different from the other countries in the world Tongue. Of course, I don't know how it is to pay some people you rarely see >_>. But this helps the tourism, so if you see as "tourism taxes" is not a so big problem XD.

Not that I'm defending the Royalty >_>, I tend to have neutral opinions at most of the matters. But it's like Japan, Korea, Norway, Belgium, and alot of other countries. I mean, Samurais were not good people Tongue, they made the weak/poor suffer and controlled the country for centuries, but the Samurais are one of the things that makes Japan different from othe countries, and also make it interesting.

XD, what I'm trying to say, is that I understand both sides. It must be really annoying to pay something you hate. But also people that have pride in the tradition must be happy of having the Royalty in UK Tongue.

It makes us different, true, but different in a backwards way. When the president of the US or another country comes to visit, who is he first greeted by? The PM? No... The queen <_<; who has no power to discuss the matters and is actually just wasting time that could be being used to make decisions to save lives.

It doesn't bring tears to my eyes except tears of anger and frustration. And I can't stand extreme national pride - we're no better than anyone else.

You know who had extreme national pride? The NAZIS.

... go figure -_-;

I dont think we need any more racism here. We already have football fans for that department thanks very much.

All that British pride will do is make us more proud to be separated from other parts of the world. Even now ethnic minority sects in major cities are not intergrating with the main British public. You think they're happy to be British and have this queen who does nothing for them besides make pretty speeches?

These people are British to, some born here. They have to be intergrated and the royal family is a door to a past way of thinking that cannot actively encourage what needs to be done without sounding contradictory.

On the Queens word we could take over the world if we wanted too, but since she's so kind, we don't, and the PM instead chooses to use the army for a load of crap over in the middle east which is doing absolutely nothing! If we had a Queen/King like in the olden days, the British could reign supreme over the world again, but we don't because they've gone all soft and everything Tongue lol

hmmm, interesting question. it is slightly frustrating having a token figure that does nothing but get oney spent on her, but i think that the english public will put up with her because she's nice, etc. but as soon as charles becomes king, things are going to change. alot.
