Losing EXP on dying

I don't play PSOBB, so, I was just wondering, how much exp do you lose on dying?

Does it depend on your area and level? Is it anything like (out of the blue) 1% of the total EXP to the next level up?

Depends upon your level (of course, you don't lose the same experience al level 10 or at 180), and the way you choose after die: if you are using a Scape doll or another member of the party uses a Moon Atomizer (or Reverser), don't lose the same experience as if you get back to Pioneer2. In that second case, at high levels the lost experience can be more higher than 50.000. In first case, is more lower.

Sometimes is a shit, specially when you're close to level up, but I preffer this to die and lose meseta and the weapon you were using at this moment.

Too much. I ruined Kefka's life at L197 when we were des'ing when he used too much Berserk and I made other dumb mistakes, and he let me have it alright.

I prefer to die and lose EXP too rather than meseta/weapon. Meseta is too light a punishment, and it's far too evil to have to risk losing your weapon!

(b) whether or not you go back to Pioneer.

Is it a percentage calculated from whatever total EXP you need to level up? i.e. How much is 50000 at the 'high level' you mentioned?

Say I'm level 190, and I need another 2 million EXP to get to level 191.

I die and return to Pioneer, losing 50000. 50000 compared to 2 mil is 2.5%. Is that 2.5% a constant, or is EXP lost calculated a different way?

You cannot lose more than 50,000 if you do not go back to Pioneer 2.

The closer you are to leveling up, the more you lose.

So, assuming that you don't return to Pioneer, the EXP lost varies linearly from 0 to 50000, depending on how far you are from a level up. It makes sense that no EXP will be lost if you just levelled. Did I get that right?

At what level do you start losing the max EXP of 50000 (when you're so so near to that level up)?

I'd say from Lv 160 onwards.

I see. That will be enough. As for how much is lost if you do return to Pioneer, I shall find that out one day myself. I will not have any of you risk your lives just to satisfy my own curiosity.

going back to Pioneer 2 costs you up to 100,000 experience points, hell on megid filled single player games (i tried disconnecting not long ago, but it still took away 100k)

EDIT: and by finding out yourself... does that mean you have/are getting Blue Burst? :O

EDIT2: just remembered, todd had this weird theory about using more than one moon atomiser at a time helping you lose less experience, the 1st moon revives, the 2nd refills hp/tp, the 3rd(+?) reduces the experience lost, at 190+ i lost only 25,000 near a level up thanks to him. so his theory worked out, as long as you can use moon atomisers real quick :3
