Ahh, nostalgic

Hopefully this new game will bring back all those fond memories and create some great new ones. PSU has alot of potential for great online experience.

yeah sega knew what the community ment to players thats why teh yadded the rooms which i think its cool too bad about teh mags though but the new robota are still gonan be good if they can fight with you in human form hehe and im sure we will both have fond memories of psu in my room beat lol xxx

Yeah the rooms are definately one of the first things Im going to play with in the beta. Just to see whats possible just inside that small area. Then head out into the shopping malls. Even that excites me, that there are multiple floors of shops instead of just a little corner like in PSO.

I've been reading up abit on the beta, and hopefully the delay will only be a couple of days, which isnt too bad.

Well I just tossed out $160 big ones for a wireless lan unit and a 12 month subscription to Xbox Live upon seeing the beta offer.

Now I'm watching the marketplace like a hawk...

And yeah, the wireless lan device works pretty darn well considering its in a spot where I don't get much if any connectivity to my AP.

Well as my 360 is connected to my PC monitor and right next to my base there isn't much point in me splashing out £60 for the wifi connector

mine my room is above my pc so i just drilled and wired it taht way and saved £60 i can use on games .well one game damn exspensive games btw this beta is everything you can do i nthe full game right? oh and how much will it cost each month?

The beta features pretty much ALL of the multiplayer aspect of the game:

Once online, we highly recommend the following activities to get the most out of this Open Beta period:

• Create Your Character - Construct the perfect avatar with the robust Character Creation tool that enables players to change their character's body shape and dimensions, hairstyle and color, facial structure and features, and more!
  
• Meet New People - Head out to the lobby and meet new people! Visit various shops for weapons, clothing and other items and then join or create a squad to embark on missions with new friends.
  
• Explore the Universe - With three expansive planets to explore, discover the adventures that lie ahead on Parum, Neudaiz, and Moatoob.
  
• My Room - Create your personal online space by adding items and elements from your adventures, and decorating your My Room with various themes and wallpaper. In here, your Partner Machinery is able to create new weapons and items for you to use in battle, trade with friends, or sell for a profit. Players can also exchange Partner Cards and visit friends in their My Room!
  
• Customize Your Look - Head to one of the various Clothing or Parts shops located across the Universe and outfit your character with the newest styles.
  
• Try Different Job Types - Speak to the Guardian Representative located on the fifth floor of the Guardian's Colony to freely change between the three class types: Hunter, Ranger, and Force.
  
• Create and Sell Items - Craft items from the base materials you find during your adventures using your Partner Machinery. You can even sell these items within player-run Shops!

Also, the Guardian's License fee has been confirmed as $9.99 a month. So around £5.50 for us Brits (Give or take).

Edit: I found a little more info about the Beta this weekend on the PSU forums.

Q: Will my Beta Characters be available after the game releases?
A: No, Beta Characters will not be available once the game releases. Since the Beta Servers are not 100% final, we will need to fully update them after the end of the Open Beta on the 18th.

Q: I am from Country X , will the BETA be available for me?
A: The Beta will be available in the US, Europe, and Japanese territories.

Q: I love Phantasy Star Series and I want to paticipate, how can I be a BETA tester?!
A: Everyone with a VALID Xbox Live GOLD account can participate in this BETA event. All you need to do is DOWNLOAD the BETA when it is available and you can play immeidiately. Remember, the download will only be available for two days after the initial release, so be sure you grab it!
