If I notice a typo, I often edit my posts; but I'm just a perfectionist. The main thing that will get on peoples nerves is posting multiple times in a chain when we have a perfectly good edit button to help avoid spam! Tongue

For some people this may be their first forum, and they may not know forum decorum ^_^

As long as they try, I say just give a friendly pointer here and there. Smile

Some people join up, don't post for ages and then make a post or two. Registration date isn't necessarilly linked to how new to the community a poster is ^_^.

But it's so much effort to do for example: typing an extra 3 letters from pls to please is SO much work. Sad

There is the occasional person who has good reason to try and shorten their typing, but the number that actually do such is much too large. One person I know that it's quite acceptable for is a friend of mine who suffered a stroke, she can't move her left side properly so she's forced to type with one hand. Makes all the txt tlk quite acceptable, but no people... "txt tlk" is not cool, so unless you actually have some kind of legitimate reason... don't. Tongue

The only reason I ever type shorthand, or whatever its called, is when Im in a hurry to leave and Im just finishing talking to someone over IM.
