Ebbflowe0517 Wrote:hmm...it's connecting though...because it shows my HL's expiration....and besides that, I'm connected to my DSL directly....could that be the probem?

Thanks for all the help so far!!

PS: Sol, I live in America, my ISP is bellsouth but it should be working...

PPSBig Grin-dude(I can't spell that lol....) I can connect to the homepage....and I even sent in this question to Sega through it lol.....

Again, thanks for the help!!!

Wait a minute... BellSouth is also a phone company too, right?
You're problem might be there...

If BellSouth also is an ISP in addition to you're phone service, your problem is probobly there. Your probolem is that, your connection, is being lagged.. Very Severley, if I may ask, how long do you wait before quiting and going back to the main menu?

When I switched to another ISP, I would try to connect and it would be about 15 mins before I could go on, and it only did that the first few times, Im saying if you got a new ISP, try leaving it sit there and come back every 5 minutes or so and try getting to the ship select, if not let it sit there and just kee trying (I'd give up after about 6 tries and wait 'till later), and it should be fine. It'll do that because if something was used to connecting to another ISP, It'll get lost but eventually find the right connection...if that makes any sence to you. Or you could just call BellSouth and ask them whats going on, if you haven't already tried that.

No offense Ivan but what are you talking about?? Smile

Ebb, you shouldnt have to type in any config stuff and DNS numbers, just leave your GC on DCHP / auto detect. Also, you should turn your modems power off and then back on before you connect it to your gamecube so as it doesnt still think its connected to your pc.

If you are using the same ethernet cable that came with the modem to connect it to your gamecube then it shouldnt be that causing a problem. Although it may be worth trying different types if you have some (straight through, crossover).

yeah....I'm using the same cable that came with the modem, so that shouldn't be the problem. and yes, Ivan what WERE you talking about lol?

but from what I can gather from Ivan's babble (lol) I can't just "switch" my ISP, my mom is very comfortable with our ISP and wouldn't just switch because of my PSO...she doesn't even know I play PSO lol....

SEGA said my bellsouth works fine with PSO, and that they have a few people that use it and they've gotten no bad reports about it...but I'm not exactly sure if it's our phone service too.....

Thanks again for the help lol!!

Did you make sure to turn your modems power off and then back on before you connect it to your gamecube? This clears the temporary network information such as local ip addresses and MAC address from the modems memory.

Ok, I'm sorry I try to explain things clearly...

-Call your ISP and ask what's going on
-Try my suggestion. (Try pressing A every few minutes)

I know, half the time noone understands what the hell I'm saying, but at least try reading it again... :o

What are you on about Ivan ? Theres no point him ringing his ISP as he said it works fine with his PC... And trying to connect loads of times/mashing the pad wont make a difference either...

A long shot but perhaps its your Firewall ?

Nah, probobly not. I have firewall, and I'm ok getting online.

(Ok, drop my old theory, you'd either need to be here with me in person, or you'd need a webam to understand it, and I could show you) :o
