Single player customisation?

Could someone tell me if it's possible to make a custom single player character?

I know there's a story mode persay and you play as a set guy, but is it also possible to play "online mode" offline ala PSO?

There is an "Extra Mode" in the game, which allows you to play in the world thats accesible online, you can make your own character, level up and everything.

However you can only do this solo, theres no offline multiplayer in PSU.

To get extra mode tho. You need to beat chapter 4 in Story and Extra moed revovles around story with items and what not. To get a place you need to beat that place in story and so on.

Theres an "Extra Mode" Where you create a character and play thru story mode and such.

You don't play throught story mode. You play missions like you would on story mode, those timed missions.

I'd like to clear up a few things about Extra Mode.

First off, it is not like online mode, except for the fact that you can create your own character. In Extra Mode, the only missions you can do are the missions that you have unlocked by playing Story Mode. You will not do any of the missions that are available online. From what I understand, the events that take place online are actually set quite a few years after the ending of Story Mode.

Second, to unlock Extra Mode, you must complete Chapter 4 in Story Mode. Once this is accomplished, save your game and log out. Then you will see Extra Mode with Story Mode and Network Mode.

The best way of describing Extra Mode is Story Mode without the story, rather than online mode without the online.

Yeah, you basically play through "uninterrupted" stages. Some bosses don't even get an introduction cut-scene.
