After playing a Hunter I debated whether or not to start a Ranger type character. I started to think about how many Weapons there are to choose from and how many more PA Bullets I'd have to learn for each weapon.
Does anyone play a Ranger Type and help to shed some light on how you choose with the many combonations of weapons and PA Bullets?

Picking the wisest set of bullet skills has you making plenty of little calculations... you have to consider what element that larger enemies are most of the time for your strong weapons, and what the smaller enemies are for your weaker weapons.
For example... fire, ice, and lightning are three decent ones for a Shotgun weapon due to groups of smaller enemies often being of the ice, fire, or ground elements.
Larger enemies tend to be the more uncommon elements such as dark and light, but there's still a couple of ground types and ice types too. Therefore pick whichever gun you take out larger enemies with, and pick the elements you want. Dark and light would be some good ones to consider. (I'm fairly sure there's a lot of elements missing online at the moment.)
Bosses come in all varieties, so just blast them however you feel works (except with their own element).
At the moment I'd say dual handguns, shotguns, and rifles are most effective in a ranger's hands (haven't tested laser cannons yet). PSU's all about customizing as you see fit though, so feel free to take whatever direction you enjoy. After all, the game's all about having fun your own way (as long as it isn't hurting anyone.)

Yup. There's also the note that some weapons really depend on those bullet levels such as the shotguns. They get extra shots for the higher level bullet skills, so there's a lot of factors in there indeed.

I'll be starting a Ranger tonight. I want to check out the different aspects of all types with my own eyes.

*nods* Rangers and Forces tend to be a lot more complicated than Hunters, but they're certainly still fun. (Although some character voices are very annoying when playing a Force... XD)

O.o I switched the sound off on mine. Since my character's voice started to bug me, with every slash she kept shouting "YAH!"...

Hehehe, this is why I very carefully chose a voice that wouldn't bug me. XD When making your character, listen to as many voice samples as possible before choosing, there could be one in there that'd drive you nuts.
