Well... i'm done for the day!

My copy of Phantasy Star Universe made it through the post today at around 10-11am(ish), and i decided to pick it up and play straight away... bad idea :O

Slotted it straight into my Xbox360, and then played story mode for 8 - 9 hours straight! I'm quite impressed with how long the game is lasting, and the story's not bad either! I'm only on chapter 5, but that's probabily because i read everything and watch all the billions of cutscenes! lol

Just a couple of things to note though:

• How pervy is this game trying to be? Dam Japanese Most ladies have super mini-skirts on, and i have to note that i've probabily seen Karen's knickers more times than i would have seen the knickers on any DOAX game!
  
• "Next time, on Phantasy Star Universe..."
  Seems to me as if Sonic Team's been watching too many American TV shows! XD But why do this though? You keep ruining allthe surprises that are coming up dammit, ARGH! I want to look away, but i can't!
  
• Playing the FMV introduction again at the start of each chapter? - Brilliant! I love that bit! I can now confidently sing the whole title track to PSU! lol
  
• The Achivements on Xbox360 are very poor indeed! Surely they could have added a few more for doing stuff online, but instead it seems as if they just shoved the 360 version together as a port and decided to give out points on defeating each boss! I'll have done that soon enough! And the graphics could have been improved a little surely...?
  
• I love this game ^_^ but i dunno if it beats PSO though...

Oh yea, and then after playing the Xbox360 version offline for 9 hours straight, my mate borrowed the PC version from me and then i jumped straight onto online PC PSU and played with him and a few others until 1:30am! Had to restart my PC though halfway through because of total slowdown and 'freeze-framing' at the end (Where it freezes, and then 5 minutes later plays normally for a few seconds and does it again and again :S). Overall though a pretty cool experience. I thought making a PSO character from scratch was hard enough (Hmm, what class to be), but now there's even more things to choose (Hmm... what eye colour to have, OH NOES THAT ALL WRONG, start again) lol

So, what i'm trying to say out of everything here is... playing PSU for 13-14 hours straight is bad for your eyes! Don't do it people... maybe 12 hours instead

Whoa you played it for 8-9 hours!:O When i first got mine i only played it for 1 hour each day. Why because to make it last long because i can't play online...:'( Yeah most of the girls wear mini-skirts i wonder why? Maybe so we can look at them saying ohhhh

well anyways PSU is a cool game but, i still think PSO its better!

Here here Lee! It's disgusting how badly PSU portrays women... there's even a character that acts like a total slut on more than one occasion... and CERTAINLY dresses like one. (Also Lee, they're called "hot-pants" no mini-skirts. XD Mini-skirts are what the typical Japanese school-girl wears, hot-pants are extremely short, tight-fitting shorts that are meant for doing intense excersise in... and not general, every-day clothing as PSU uses them for). I swear, how women are depicted in games is only getting WORSE instead of better...

Also... playing for 13-14 hours in one day? Get some sleep man! That's bound to make your eyes completely blood-shot. XD

I think PSU is actually quite equality-minded. Sure, most of the women's outfits have revealing aspects, but the men also do! Also, it's not overtly (read ridiculously) sexualised a la Dead or Alive.

I quite like the achievements - 1000 points for completing the game that's quite good

But shame there were no online achievements also but oh well good enough.

btw regarding the prev aspects. I've just watched the Headmaster Nav FMV made me laugh and you are very correct Lee

What? I'm a girl... I know these things. Especially on the topic of clothing of that nature due to all my public indecency rants... which come very often it seems. XD

I say play a little PSU, but not much... then go nuts for around 8 hours tomorrow, but not 13 to 14 hours, no more killing your eye-balls. XD

Oh and Faulkie... that particular cut-scene with Headmaster Nav... I found the names he was called funny, but they really didn't need that close-up at the beginning of it... that was pretty unneeded and totally meant for sex-appeal.

So, is there anything "pervy" in the offline story mode that might "appeal" to a female audience? :S
