Just got this today and played the first couple of levels, and must say that it is absolutely lovely! A terrific fun, relaxing and peaceful platform game. I recommend to everyone!

Nobody else very intersted? Remains an immensely charming game, though cannot quite compete with New Super Mario Bros.

Hmmm... I may just try that! I'm quite fond of the Yoshi's Island for the GBA, it was cute AND fun! Are there any new featurey-gameplay changes with the DS technology, like the touchscreen or anything?

I know the DS sequel has more babies you can use instead of Mario and they grant Yoshi different abilities. The babies in the game are Mario, DK, Peach, Wario, and Bowser. Beyond that I know the game also uses both screens as one large screen like Sonic Rush. Beyond that I don't think much of the touch screen is used. I still have the first one on my GBA and look forward to getting the new for my DS.
PSU Characters:
Azel, lvl 90 (FT lvl 10) Miriya KadreshiOrta, lvl 32 (FigG lvl 2) Collette, lvl 28 (force lvl 5/hunter lvl 5)

Yes, it is as PD Edge said. The stylus is only used for the occasional minigame after levels, and even then, you can still use the buttons. I think this is a good thing, as they could have spoilt a perfectly satisfying platformer by forcing in touch-screen control.

Just for the record... the original Yoshi's Island was for the SNES... the GBA one was merely another remake. I don't think much can compare to the original Yoshi's Island, but hey... as long as it comes close I'll be perfectly happy.
Due to my lack of a DS though I'm unable to play this game. XD Hearing that touch-screen use is minimal to non-existant delights me though... the few games I HAVE had to use the touch screen a lot I've hated. XD Much like with the Revo and its oddness.I've heard that the baby crying sound is much much much much much less annoying in the sequel though... which is music to my ears. XD I swear... Mario's ear-piercing non-stop crying could give someone NIGHTMARES on the original Yoshi's Island. XD

Yes, the baby drove me insane at times! I'm glad to hear this game sounds great, I may just check it out!

After I hear baby mario's crying long enough I just let the shy guys take him. In fact if it was an option I'll let them keep him
