A new .hack game has been confirmed for the PlayStation 2! Yayness!

I'm not going to say anything, mainly because I don't know very much. Check out http://www.dothack.com for (hopefully) more details.

I sure hope you can convert saved data from .hack // QUARANTINE into .hack // G.U., or perhaps have a bonus for having completed the games.

Well I'm not sure on the data transfer from Quarantine to G.U. because this takes place I think 10 years after the game and it's not the same Kite. But did you hear about the other .hack games coming out next year, there's the G.U. series then there's an online one where you can create your own character and go about the .hack world.

I saw something about The World on the website, but it says No Data. Maybe that's what it end up being, a link to download the game perhaps?

At any rate, there's bound to be many people trying to copy .hack characters in this game. I know I'll try to create Sora!

The online game is called ".hack//fragment" it's suppose to be for the PC & Ps2, but if it comes out late enough then it might be on the ps3. If you really could be Sora then hopefully that means you can also PK (player killer/player killed) in the game. That would be so cool .

Has anyone seen the preview of G.U. yet I just saw it and it was soo sweet everything is cel-shaded and the main character is a player killer then he tried to kill the wrong person and was data drained by Kite.

I think it stands for Gaming Unlimited, or something like that... something I thought I saw during the movie.

Well no one really knows what G.U. stands for if you look at the movie then you'll see several possablities like guilty unison or as Imakuni said gaming unlimited. But well know what it stands for sometime around the release date or when bandai holds a press conference about it.

I just realized that if the entire system was wiped clean some time after quarintine then that means that the class restrictions on characters is gone. In other words a twin blade can hold a heavyaxe's weapon and vise-versa I hope that this is true in fragment as well as G.U.

Geeks Utopia is also a possibility, or as Piros the 3rd says, 'GRAPHICS UNLIMITED!'

And Cye, the servers were wiped out, not the stat parameters. CC Corp. had to make a whole new game and system, although there are alot more classes. Adept Rogue(You) being one of them. And BTW, .hack//fragment is not the new online game coming out. That's an old obselete JP game, the first in the .hack series. It bombed, horribly IRL in Japan, and in the anime/games, Fragment is referred to as the prototype to The World, and it failed.

Allready finished the first volume and I'm waiting on the second one now. Apparently some big things happen in the second one.

I advise watching .hack//roots, I'm in the midst of watching it, and it really ties into the game well, although you don't need to watch it to understand the game, it explains everything that happens within the 8 month gap in the prologue of volume 1.

Yeah I can't wait for volume 2 to be released this summer. Rebirth had me hooked for a couple of months. I've beaten it, I just haven't fought doppelgänger yet it's suppose to be 10 levels higher than you and it's a random monster.

It's a shame about fragment not making it, better luck next time I guess.

In volume 2 Haseo(the main character) is going to get his final form, the vs. card game is going to be playable (I wonder how good Gasbard is?). Enderance is going to make a comeback. I just can't wait .
