*le sigh* Where is Kef's harsh logic when you need his Frenchiness? Anti, what you say is true in theory except those magnets of any size for commercial use would cost WAY too much. Also, unless you're speaking of a system that they use in monorails, nothing as big as what you're talking about could be powered without the use of electro-magnets, nothing without an electro-magneto sphere would hold up a turbine, monorails float off the track because of their speed. But the electro magnets that are pushing them are still powered by electricity.

. . . That is true. . . If maybe they were put in cars and we stopped the nuclear stations, the world would be cleaner.

Nuclear Power is cleaner than burning coal and natural gases. It'd be silly to get rid of relatively clean way of generating power.

Nuclear power isn't as earth-destroying as people think it is.
It's not great, and like fossil fuels they're not renewable but... they don't mutate fish and stuff like some things *cough*Simpsons*cough* may lead us to believe.

. . . that explains a lot. We should find better power sources. TIME TO CHANGE SUBJECT! What's the new topic going to be?

Heh, there aren't many forms of energy we can make use of. All the fully renewable energy sources are unreliable. Solar panels, what if you end up in a huge rainstorm for days on end? Wind farms...No wind? No power. Same with tidal energy, no wind, no waves, no power.

I thought of using magnets and friction to make energy. . .

It'd cost too much for most power suppliers to even consider.

What if you relied on movement, like in a car? Wouldn't that help a little?

Here's something I've been thinking about for years.
Why not attach small wind turbines onto a car so that the movement forward will turn the turbines and generate a little bit of energy?
It wouldn't run on this entirely but the energy could be transferred back into the car and it would be a little bit more efficient, surely?
Someone tell me why that wouldn't work.
