That's a pretty awful thing to do to someone, especially a big buff man... I don't see why or how this thing was even discovered!

You get ported to a quest load screen, once the bar fills you're toast. Contrary to popular belief it was NOT only created for Dreamcast, although it has seldom ever been used on other platforms. ONCE it hit a lobby on PSOBB, but since it was server side saving, SEGA rectified all of the character data.

The defense is to shut off your console at the speed of light, and accept the effects of a regular FSOD over a NOLing.

It was also used on the gamecube. But unlike the dreamcast, it was only temporary and used for fun to freak people out and make them go. "z0mg!!!!111 }{4x0r 0wns!!!11"

Ahem. Yes, it was all a part of the huge proxy packets that soem people used. Very few people had them (usually only members of hacking clans) and those who did owned the game in more ways than one. Although with the gamecube you had to reload it everytime you logged on...I obviously don't know the technicalities of this..

Yeah, there's actually a difference between NPC codes and NOLing. One is self inflicted and voluntary, and may not reduce stats. The other is pretty much the opposite

speaking of those proxies...

My friend hwo was one of those who made alot of that stuff (master code, priv server, proxies etc) had alot of fun with the proxy.
Making people do dances in the lobby without them pressing the buttons them selves, lagging them, basically having controll over everyone...
Ah, way fun :]

Never seen NOLing been done besides the DreamCast tho.

i remember seeing codes for anti bsod and anti noling........basicly the cheaters were the only ones who had acsess to these codes
