Piping does nothing to drop rates. The rate on Psycho Wand is 1/205, that's just under 0.5% chance of it dropping, nothing else effects that.

I'll be doing some more piping later tonight, I'll just edit this post later with any results.

EDIT: First piping spree today... found 7 more Mils... still no Psycho Wand... oh, and my RAcaseal leveled from all the piping. XD The count is now 166.

EDIT: Final result... 172 Mil lilies... still no Psycho Wand. Played online a bit earlier though and found a Silence Claw and 3 more PDs in total. My curse lives on. XD

Not at all. I found a final impact from a Bartle and an Kaladbolg earlier. I didn't say that the drop rates were definitely affected, just stating the human psychy, usually, when you're not looking for something, you find it.

*giggles* Aye... that's psychology for ya. XD You don't notice how many enemies you've killed before the rare drops, simply because you weren't focusing on finding it... whereas when hunting something, every monster that drops burn its own spot into your memory. XD

I'll do what I did yesterday and just update this post with todays piping results when I get around to it.

EDIT: Results so far... 9 Mils, no Psycho Wand... =x.x= 179 Mils on the wall... 179 Mils...

EDIT2: Final results from today... 15 Mils, no Psycho Wand... 185 Mils... jeez.

I found a DB sabre which is pretty rubbish...no way can it stand up against my yamato. I really do need to find more rares that aren't useless or for forces. The curse of being a pinkal hunter. :'( but apart from that I leveled up to 76 =D and found a few monogrinders to add to my evergrowing collection and about 5 photon drops in the same room it was really weird lol.

If you like the Twin Swords like Yamato, just run Temple a few times with your Pinkal. Asuka has a 1/8 drop rate from Barba Ray. Very good drop and easy to get as well. *Edit* That's on Ultimate by the way.
