The official servers were never up to much, and SEGA knows this. The offered poor customer service for it throughout the lifespan of the online capabilities. Pay to play... No thanks. I'll stick with something less crap than that.

Pay to play is th better way to go for them.

But it is not a big loss, just go to private servers and it will all be ok, minus the Tech support, but it happens.[/COLOR][/SIZE]

I already have the answer... Horrendously bad customer support, nonexistent serverside security, and all in all bad workmanship.

I like how Sega always ends their letters of "appreciation" with ads for PSU and BB. They made a great game in PSO, but their support blows ass.

I would hardly call it a surprising halt. The servers had been basically abandoned for a long time.
