Duo Wrote:Definately worth the money. In the US it's about $30-$40 for the adapter and $9 a month. I dont know how much the euro is compared to a dollar because from k8lin's post the rates appear to be different and i'm assuming its different. You pay by credit card and yes it is worth it
Thanks but I use pounds. I might go online in the future if I can get together enough money...

Modem costs about £35
BBA costs about £40 (You can find these online almost everywhere)

HL costs nothing for the first 30 days then its £5.99 a month after that period. Local ISP charges and conditions apply Big Grin .

So if I pay 40 pounds for a BBA, I can play for a month for free? Cool! Do you pay for a month, 6 months or whatever at a time? Thanks for the help everyone.

The modem and BBA should be the same price. That's like making vegetarians pay more/less for food. Why should how you connect make you suffer?

Anyway, if you use EU PSO, then it's £5.99 per month (as GOLDIE says). You have to pay every month if you want to get online. There is no automatic re-registering, so after the first month of playing for free, you have to go back to www.playsega.com and buy another month.

You will also want a keyboard. Not playing with a keyboard is very tiresome if you try to talk/chat. Check this thread for some more info about them

All in all, it will cost about £50-£60 to get online and have a good time (with BBA/modem and keyboard, first month free).

Cheapest is £20 (not checked recent price) from datel. There are a few problems with the keyboard, but for general chatting it's the cheapest and easiest solution.

You pay for 30 days at a time (if you have any problems connecting which didn't happen during your free 30 day trial you can E-mail sega at [email protected] they will tell you how to fix the problem or give you 2-3 extra days on your HL) you can pay for the November period and once your HL has ended you can wait until next November if you like if it suits you. You can register at http://www.playsega.com. Anything else you want to know?

Darn, people posted as I was posting Rolleyes .

I'm more bothered about getting a BBA, it's essential, a keyboard just makes it easier, right? I need to save up money first though...
