That's pretty interesting, but I doubt it will be changed to that. 616 doesn't have the same ring to it as 666.

Because seven is the perfect number, so six is below perfect. I could go on like this for days, I know too much about the bible lol, and I suggest someone locks this thread soon before it becomes a religious conversation staffmembersdoitsoonorwhoevercandoitdoit

Perhaps if we can manage to have a good conversation without resorting to flaming, it can be left open. Maybe a discussion on religious imagery in PSO?

There is no beast, just a load of writings from crazy drugged up hippies entitled "Jesus n' Pals"
Besides, 666 isn't below 7. And also, there are other numbers below 7, like 1. 6 is like, only just under perfect. Negative infinity is seemingly more unholy ![]() In conclusion: ![]() Photoshop is fun; and you have been spam'd.

Shittles, taste the asshole. I suppose the reason the number is 666 is because of karma. You know, anything that you do comes back threefold and all that.
10-08-2007, 10:44 AM
Christians etc. don't believe in karma as of standard; they belive in divine punishment from god. And god doesn't have to punish you threefold, he can punush you twofold, or tenfold if he wants to
![]() IMO god is an idea put forward by people who can't accept their own mortality and who wish to control society; and as such, even though he is only an idea he does punish people. With wars and such - like most religions.

Mm. I myself don't believe in religion, mostly due to the fact that everyone claims their God/s are the true one/s. Forgive me if I'm wrong, but I don't think that that many would have been able to collaborate together effectively. Considering the bible says that humans were created in the God's own image, and we are, to put it bluntly, a bunch of bastards, it doesn't give me much faith in a higher entity.
With war, and etc... Well, this war on terror is a good example. These suicide bombers are apparently taught that doing so makes them martyrs, and gets them into heaven, or whatever the equivalent of that is in their religion. Of course we can't forget ol' Bushie and his dumbass comments about how 'God must have been taking a coffee break' about the Virginia Tech shootings.

I believe in religion, because it exists. I just don't believe any of it is true, and I have no faith in it. I agree with you anyway.

As far as I know our 666 myth - the inspiration for a lot of films and even Crowley himself - is based on the quote that is mentioned in the text(Johannes 13,1 ff.). Everything around this is just playing around with numbers and making some curious conspiracy theories. If you search long enough you ll find a lot of "proof" for absolutly everything. Same goes for the 666. The very reason for searching the bible for further proof is based on a translation mistake and it wouldnt have ever been seen as "proof" if the mistake was never made. Another good example is the number 23 ("secret code of the illuminaty"). You wouldnt believe (if you havent seen it with your own eyes) how many maniacs there are who're giving you a lot of "proof" that 23 is an evil number. This is even the best example for this kind of "proof", you just have to search long enough. It can be pretty catchy when you see how you can transfer it to yourself. If I sum up the digits of my birthdate Ill get 23. Right now Im sitting here and watching TV. The volumen of my sound system is on 18 and my reciever is switched on the 5th channel. If you add this two numbers you ll get 23 (haha). If you count the threads that are displayed on the first site of this forum (Lobby) - guess what ? There are 23 of them. If you count the letters in the domain to this forum "http://www.ragol.co.uk/forums/" - eeek, 23. Omfg, it`s proven !!!11 Do you think I would have discovered that if I never heard of something like "the evil 23" ?
