metroid prime (1/2 and 3)
#1
new thread to discuss everything about these games, from the best power-up to the best boss fight and ect...

prime 1 (100% in around 6:24)
prime 2 (100% in around 4 hours)
prime 3 (81% in 10:42)

all those where on easy mode, and "hypermode" on prime 3 is giving me RSI i swear (1 hour 10 mins on ONE boss x.x)

I've only ever played the first Metroid Prime game for any extended period of time... I don't own a Revolution as of yet, so I can't play the third one... thus... spoilers are baaaad! XD

My best run on the original Metroid Prime has definitely been my previous one though... something like 100% Items 100% Log Book Scans, 6 hours, 13 minutes, or something relative to that. Now I finally have absolutely everything unlocked in that game... XD

The one time I beat Metroid Prime 2 I only needed about 5 more missile upgrades to 100% the Items, and a bunch of Log Book scans I missed... Metroid Prime 2 is rather... annoying. I hate the Dark World gameplay intensely and don't want anything to do with it because it's just so annoying... it's why I didn't bother going back for those last 5 Missile upgrades.

you just couldn't find them :O

and thats cool, what was the best boss on MP1 in your opinoun? i thought it was omega pirate dude, that was so scary the 1st time but then again i done it on both normak and hard mode really easy x.x

From metroid prime 2 i dont know, got to play it through again x.x
(i found the dark world good, because i thought it added soem mroe tension into the fights well at the start anyway)

And all my 100% games where with 95-96% log book scans, so not bad i think.

well yeah, i wont tell anything about MP3 unless its in a PM o.o

you mean the giant lobster sort of parasite thing at the start? i don't know I never finsihed it. I don't actually have the game whenever I played it it was rented. the boss I faced that I hated most was the giant plant thing where you have to shoot those one things up and then bomb it with morph ball bombs once the roots retract
RIP nomercy.

I just hated the Dark World because you spent too much time in it! Being confined to small areas was just stupid... it's not fun, it's tedious. Freedom of movement has always been something I loved about Metroid games... you were free to use whatever manuverability you could think of... but the Dark World just says "No! You must stay in these stupid little safe spots or you will die faster!! Muwhahaha!" ...really bad concept.

... And then you get the Light Suit and it doesn't matter anymore.

On the other hand, when you have no Safe Zones available, it really ramps up the difficulty of a certain boss fight, which would probably be a good thing (Challenge increase = good) if Quadraxis hadn't been so damned cheesy. *Glares at it*

thats true, without the dark suit its evil *glares at the worm boss* over 9,000 damage a second in the dark world, and i thought the random phazon blobs everywhere where evil >.<

That's not challenging to me... it's more or less purposely being annoying. I don't mind challenge, but I want to challenge to come in a different form than that... It wouldn't have been as bad if you didn't spend so much damn time in the Dark World... Also the Light Suit is the LAST UPGRADE IN THE GAME... so it doesn't matter at all. You get to enjoy it for about a half hour... if it were given to you around 50-60% of the way through the game maybe I wouldn't have hated the Dark World so much.

I would've preferred some other kind of bar that gets drained as you walk outside of safe spots rather than energy... it just feels cheap and stupid... it doesn't feel like Metroid the way it was set up...

...The bosses were also rather annoying in Metroid Prime 2... they didn't have the same feeling that I get from other Metroid game bosses...

Hell I just didn't like the game as a whole methinks... XD I beat it, but it was more of a chore than I would've liked. The technological area was pretty neat though... they should make a place like that again. XD

so i guess you really dislike it then Sad

but anyway, metroid 3 is too hard on the hardest mode >.< at the moment its taken me 3 times longer then on normal mode to get to the same place, and taken more damage at 1/3rd through the game then i did at the end of the game in normal mode. You want a challange pink? do MP3 on hardest mode then Tongue

Well first I'm gonna need a Revolution before I can get my paws on the game... it's on my Christmas list so yeah... being the only major item on there there's a very good chance I'll get it... XD It'll have to be pretty challenging to stop me though... Metroid Prime's Hard Mode was a breeze.
