The PSO Story and Rant Thread!

Well, in response to another thread I was posting on... I figured that a sort of open-ended discussion thread like this was a good idea! So, anyone have any interesting stories involving the following: online experiences, challenge mode, quests, item finds, level ups, death stories (in game of course), or any other type of stories relating to Phantasy Star Online?
I'll start it off with a small story... Long ago (2003) I logged into a Phantasy Star Online server. I entered a lobby and began waiting for a friend of mine. Anyway, a little after I had entered a very tiny HUmar came running to my character. The HUmar said "give me your items or ill hack u." I responded with "Oh yeah? Prove it, hack my character... destroy him! Obliterate my level 7 (at that time) character with extreme prejudice!" (Or a very similar sentence) He then responded with a few sentences and eventually said that he instead found out where I lived. I then asked him to tell me what he supposedly found with his apparently Divine Gamecube. His first answer was New York. It was wrong of course and then he again threatened to hack my character. Eventually my friend came on and I just left the poor little power-hungry HUmar to himself.
Not exactly a spectacular story, but it was one that first came to mind when thinking on such things. So feel free to share similar stories and all. But when playing games online you do tend to meet a lot of crazies don't you?

I played Hide and Go Seek on Pioneer 2 with four guys, turns out they all had the walk through walls hack and I didn't. You wouldn't believe how long they messed me around before they eventually told me what was going on.

This was on DC when I was about 13 so I didn't know any better...

And yeah, I've had a lot of hack threats in my online PSO lifetime too...

Hide and Go Seek on PSO? That sounds like it could have been fun (without the hack!). Gal Da Val Island without radar would probably be a fun place to do that, quite challenging too.

this happened not to long ago (only about a week or so ago). I was in a trade room, and i was trading with a HUney, i showed what i had for trade and they asked me to open a new window and show my equips (not to uncommon). We both showed our equips (i had ~8 guns on me at the time, scary part is: i use them all =3) which included my heaven striker and striker unit. She demanded that i handed over my HS and SU or she would crash me, i pulled up the chat log to get her guild card ID # along with what she said and i grabbed a quick SS. If she were a real hacker this next sentence would have gotten me sent back to lvl 0. "How about i keep them and you just go back to being a douche.". She "warned" me and i kept tellin her off until she said eventually "**** you keep your noob ****, i dont ****ing care, asshole." and left the room. The rest of us still trading had a good laugh about it and reported her. I just found out she got a nice perma ban

And Bmil, this stuff STILL goes on? Well at least people are getting what they deserve for once.

Bmil, yeah... Glad to hear that the... troublemaker... got a perma-ban though. Hopefully they are not aware of proxies or other ip cloaking methods... Of course Schthack requires a serial but you never know... A person that talks/types like that is probably not that creative or intelligent anyway.

Hmm, well I play PSO offline … Not really anything much strange but very good luck, like finding that magic stone from a Hildetorr w/Redria on my first one. Also is was funny when one of my brother’s characters became frozen while healing w/Resta, expect the enemies were still attacking him. Or when he got an offline message from some user playing online during a quest. =\

Oh now that is strange, so your Gamecube is at least hooked up to the internet then, correct? If not then it had to be some sort of bug or that is one dynamic message that was sent!

(this is ages ago, back on sega servers about 4-5 years ago)

Just picked up a brand new memory card, so made a lv1 and went into the 'deathtrap ship' (vega 1-1, people had alot of bad storys of that ship) and instantly got FSOD'd. never went there again lol.


1st time online and me thinking 'online will be the same as offline' 2 mins later got killed by a ob lillys improved megid >.< (lv20 over lv15 that you get offline)

1st time facing a mil lilly it paralised me so i went to P2 to cure it and get sol atomisers, thinking its still there i go back down and its a ob lilly. (back when beat timers were the thing) i go into caves the next day kill a crimson assassin and it drops the rare (asuka) on the same beat timer as the mill lilly spawned

Next time i see one i kill it and it drops its demo comet, i equiped it and both me and my brother were saying 'wtf is that?' (because of its spikes and stuff) lol. 3 years later i've found 5 out of 7 encounters with the mil lilly.

And never actually been harrased by a hacker at all, and never had anything happen to me on sega servers aswell. been quite lucky i guess

I guess that I just don't have enough time to play or something. I have only seen a rare monster three times. One was the rare lilly in the temple levels, it dropped that Custom Barrier V.00 on Ultimate for me. Then the rare slime in the caves, it gave me absolutely nothing though! I was very disappointed in that one. Lastly, I was trying to pipe a rare rappy long ago on hard forest and I did. I accidently pressed the "A" button and piped back out though, not one of my finest moments in gaming.
