I suggest going to Add/Remove programs in your Control Panel, and checking each one.

I'm having a strange set of problems, at the moment. When I download some programs online, including updates for my existing programs, such as Firefox, I get a box come up when I try to install saying I can't, because I'm not the administrator and don't have the privelages to do so. That's pretty weird since I'm the system administrator of our home network (three computers) and have administrator access to all of them.
Any ideas? This is bugging me, especially since one of the programs it does it with is Photoshop CS2. I'm running 7.0 right now...

my computer is bogged down with a bunch of programs which is predictable since it was bought in 2002 or 2003. is there any way to get rid of these useless programs? somebody said formatting but I don't know how to do that and If I did would it delete the OS as well? if so is there anyway I can get rid of those programs without formatting short of rooting them out one by one?
oh and thank you KIREEK for updating the thread

There is a aplication that let's you add or remove programs, it will show every program installed and they can be removed if you request.
Always check the folder where they have bben installed, sometimes a file or two need to be removed manually.

Control Panel > Programs > Uninstall A Program on Vista, and it's similar on XP.

Am I strong enough to not ever know just what I'd find?
Should I press on?

I read something about writing zeroes to the hard drive erasing viruses and such. will this also delete programs or possibly the computer OS?
