only computer that has PSOBB on it is pretty much worthless. ten seconds into the game it keeps closing out so I won't be able to get on for a while. hope I can still talk to you guys online but won't be able to as much as I used to until I get a new computer which won't be very soon.

doubtful. here's the problem. EVERYTHING with the exception of internet(sometimes that doesn't work too well either), possibly word processor, sansa media convertor and a few D&D PDF files everything closes out in a few seconds after being opened. I think my computer is just old and pretty much dead. only way to get a new is if somebody sends me 200$

Try reformatting your computer before giving up on it. I had a problem about a week ago where ever 15-30mins I was getting disconnected from the internet and reformatting it fixed that issue.

I know how stupid and moronic this is going to sound but I don't know how to reformat my computer. I have windows XP. also does PSOBB work on linux? that's the only other operating system I can use without having to spend money I barely have. oh and I should mention the game seems to be working again.

It works on linux but i believe in ubunto it won't.
Either way on linux you need pso bb to work on wine (program for compatibility)

Try defraging, make a check disk and try and search for errors on the C: drive (right click on C: drive and view the options)

Yes, you can reformat. You could also try using system restore to turn your computer back to a point in time before the problem began.

k I'll try that. only problem is it says only allowable by an administrator or something like that which scares me. it's like the old ripping the "do not remove tag" mattress tag off controversy. for some reason I always imagine whenever I do something wrong on the computer a swat team is going to show up and take me away. although I have to admit that'd be kinda cool Big Grin
