and would cost at least 900 PDs and that's not factoring in the extra ten percent.

only about three items I would even CONSIDER doing that with.

also that effectively increases the item's worth b 100% per sphere making it wildly unaffordable. unless of course it's something useless like a db's saber. in that case you're just screwed

Sorry for the bump, but I'd just like to say that I sphered an item to 90/90/0/90 on GameCube, using all PD's.

It was a Gi Gue Bazooka.

I felt like an idiot after I learned about Max Attack.


But it can be done - legitimately. The odds that someone would do it that way? Well, that's another story. If you search through the old Schthack forums, you may even find my old tradelist where I got the PD's. All 891. I had already played offline for a year, several hours a day (was a nerd), and I put up just about every decent weapon I had found in the meanwhile in order to get the PD's.

Edit: After learning about Max Attack, I also had:

Wow thats some pretty good percent on those weapons! I know on the gamecube verison i barely found any pd, guess my luck wasn't that good but it didn't matter since i don't play online too much.

So in max attack on the gamecube you can get photon spheres easy?

Depends on how you define easy. Very few people had the will to do it. That doesn't necessarily mean it's tough, as I did it several times, just means there are different kinds of players with different kinds of wants, goals, and dedication levels.

On Normal mode, it'd probably take you about 25 hours of play to finish. In Ult, it'd take maybe 40 hours if you knew what you were doing. You had to collect 10k kills in both MA1 and MA2, then play with players of each class (MA1, I think) and ID (MA2, I think) who had done the same. Finding the other players who had mastered was the hardest part, really. In the end, you get five Photon Spheres and a Black Ring.

You could use dummy characters to do the quest if all your regular characters had already done it.
