Maybe you can recover the data, i know ppl that were able to recover it and in 50% of the cases it works.

Well, i'm going to post this, maybe in a future occasion we can use it

Fossil on gamefaqs Wrote:[4] - FSOD Info and Methods on How to Prevent Corruption

Nobody likes FSOD and that doesn't make corruption any prettier. So I'm including all the methods I know of that I've heard of/tried over the years. I have no clue who came up with them first, but credit to those people until anyone can provide some names for me.

What is FSOD? FSOD is short for 'Frozen Screen of Death'. In other words, when the game freezes up and a very annoying buzzing sound then proceeds. I've never heard of this happening anywhere but online. The reason it happens is usually due to bad packets being sent through the data you recieve while playing online, things loading, etc.

FSOD has 2 different ways it can affect you...

1. You just get online, or have been online yet haven't played or joined any games yet and you FSOD. You will only lose your money, nothing else.

2. You've been in a game sometime during your online duration and you FSOD> You will lose any unequipped items along with your money. This is one reason why depositing your weapons before you leave games is recommended. It really does suck losing great items with hit such as a 35 hit Spread Needle.

FSOD-X is the "Xtreme" version of FSOD that literally causes your entire PSO data to corrupt on the Memory Card and vanish forever. It'd be like someone whiping your Hard Drive out and you can't do anything about it. Except in this case you can't back your data up.

NOTE: THESE ARE ONLY THINGS TO TRY IF YOU EVER DO LOSE POWER ON A SAVE, FSOD ON A SAVE, ETC. THEY ARE NOT GUARANTEED TO WORK.

----------------
*1st Method*
----------------

This first method is the one you should probably memorize. Because if FSOD is to ever occur when the save is happening you'll need to take action immediately.

1. The game has frozen on a save. Immediately run to the GC and pop the lid.

2. Remove the Memory Card as fast as you can and take the phone cord out as
well(not really necessary).

3. Turn the Gamecube off.

4. Turn the Gamecube back on.

5. Pray to god that the game loads normally. Congratulations if it did, you just survived FSOD-X. Breathe once again and express your love for the hard work you haven't lost and cared more about than you thought.

----------------
*2nd Method*
----------------

This method is only necessary if you never did the first method, or the first method didn't work.

1. Load up the game with a different memory card and create a new PSO file if needed.

2. Go into offline mode and have it selecting Multi-Player.

3. Have the Corrupted Memory Card in hand and ready to switch in. Hit A on the controller so it goes into Multi-Player and swtich the Memory Cards as fast as you possibly can. This is in hopes that the Gamecube will read the corrupted card and no longer have it in "corrupted" status.

4. If the Characters load, congratulations!

NOTE: This method is also worth trying if you have tried Method 3 and it did not work.

------------
*3rd Method*
------------

This method is only necessary after Method 1 & 2 have both failed.

1. Turn on the Gamecube and go into it's Menu(Hold A so the logo spins).

2. Go into the Memory Card section(Press down) and find the PSO data.

3. Delete the Guild Card file. Now, there has been some speculation of this working, but every now and then the save only affects certain parts of your PSO data which require being replaced. Character and System File are not replacable, so do not ever delete those.

4. Load up the game and hope it loads normally.

Your GC characters will meet my GC characters in heaven, and all the other poor souls lost due to saving/memory card problems.

They will never be forgotten and may they rest in peace.

My GC characters are like the living dead. When I actually stop playing they will go to PSO hell for being brought back to life so many times. ;o
