Has anyone here heard of fruits basket? If anyone has, who's your favourite and what year of the zodiac are you?

is there an anime called fruits baskets? i cant start to imagine wat that would be like. wats the storyline?

Ive seen a couple DVDs of that, it is a wierd title, and a wierd show, pretty funny. Not Jerry Springer funny, I meant David Lettermen funny. (US joke so you don't have to laugh)

basically, this girl named tohru is living in a tent in the woods while her grandfather is remodeling his house. She finds a house one day on her way to school and notices some stones painted like the animals of the chinese zodiac. the story basically revolves around the sohma family, which has 10 members who, when hugged (i dont know why its hugging) by a member of the opposite sex, change into their respective animal. sohma yuki is the rat, sohma shigure is the dog, sohma kyo is the cat (the cat is part of a legend that i'll explain if you want), and sohma kagura is the boar. i've only read the first manga and was trying to get more information on it.

ive seen a little of fruits, its kinda boring because its more for girls. My AP literature teacher is obsessed with anime and oftentimes lets me borrow anime. She happens to have Fruits Basket so ive seen some of it.

I TA for lionheart's AP Lit teacher and she has spoken very highly of Fruits Basket, but it seems a little girly for me. But then again, I thought Kare Kano was too girly but it's actually really funny and deep.

*laughs hysterically* DEEP?! AHAHA HA HAHAHAHA...ok im done. Seans right it is deep, but its also INCREDIBLY silly and random which can take away from the deepness. All and all its a good series.

oh yeah it gets real good, refer to njdss4s thread about the series. Its just a shame that the anime series cut off on ep26 because they ran out of money to animate it but the manga go on til like ep 80 or so and they arent done yet!
