Think of it from a human-bear situation....You get attacked by the bear, you're gonna want to play dead so it won't devour you. The rappy plays dead to save it's item. However, we're smarter than those pesky rappies so when they get up....BAMSLASHBOOM! Item dropped! It's an easy system really n_n

No they probably have collected the wepns from dead bodies from hunters or millitary of Pioneer 1. Items woul be broken down to molecules and those molecules would be stored in the box. If you ever played PSO, which im pretty sure you have when you switht wepns they materialize rigth well thats the item taking form when its realeased from the box.

It's true that those big fat ones give out slightly better rares. (Like if you knock them out then hit them as they are running away.) The rare ones usually give away rares, and they are probobly better if you hit them while they're running away. (As I just said)
