I've got some questions around the whole problem of FSODing. Just so you know I've just started playing Eps 1, 2 and 3 on a Gamecube in the last few weeks.
The way I understand it people are exploiting a bug in the word select to force everybody in a lobby to freeze with no option but to restart their cubes. Happened to me twice last night while playing Ep3, has yet to happen on Ep1&2 but I understand that it is possible. Is my understanding correct? If so, the best action to me would be to only use the lobby as little as possible to avoid being FSOD'd. i.e. Hide in a passworded team while waiting for a tourney to start. What I don't understand is why people would want to FSOD? Are there really that many people out there that gain enjoyment by ruining everybodies elses fun?
Also, is there any servers that are more prone to that kind of behaviour?
My second question is to do with the number of people using hacked characters in Ep1&2...there seems to be an awful lot of them too. So again is there anywhere where people are using legit characters more than hacked characters? I usually have a look to see if anybody is on Alphard 6 when I log in but it seems that I must be picking the quiet times as hardly anybody is ever there. There was somebody playing ep3 last night but the game was passworded so I couldn't join. :'(

One little tip. STAY AWAY FROM VEGA! Don't ever go there, FSOD paradise, and I think there might be a competition in hacking/cheating.
The best way to play IMO is to get to know some nice ppl in this forum and go play with them. They are really nice ppls and except for the odd rookie all seems to be totaly legit, with great respect for the game and the legit gamers.

Vega is the ship were fools try and see who can be hacking king, even though all they do is copy bloody codes from shitty websites!
Deneb/B block 9 is legit but theres sum hackers starting to come over.
i heard Alatair is becoming like the new home of all legit players?

Thanks for the advice, I'll steer well clear of Vega from now onwards then.
I'll give those servers a try, see how that works out. Are they fairly popular servers? Because the other difficulty is that where I'm just starting out its hard to find a decent game for my character's levels.

Deneb 9 is fairly populated and (to my knowledge) completely legit. Alphard 6 is this sites official block. Wednesday is right, get to know some people here to play with. I always go straight to VEGA and I don't have much of a problem with FSOD plus I've never once corrupted. I'm always in Vega 1, 2, or 3 although I haven't been online in quite some time.

Thanks for the invitation, I'm bound to be on somewhen over the coming weekend (in between bouts of watching Glastonbury on TV anyway!). Hopefully, I'll see you at some point!
