Im an american and i never really understood the concept of "pounds" i nrealtion to dollars. how many dollars equal a pund or vice versa?

Well I dont know the exchange rate at the moment but

£ = $
Pence = Cents


£1 = $2 aprox
25p = A quarter
5p = Nickle

I think the exchange rates are £1 : $1.71 but I'm not too sure.
