Info for a upcoming online noob

Would like to know what to avoid online. How to avoid FSOD and Corruption I have read the forums but some of them are confusing to me of what and when to do it. Any information will be helpful. I have played alot of online games and gotten burned badly by lack of knowledge. Had a lvl 98 hardcore character on diablo 2 corrupted...no idea. Any info would be great from connection bs, cheats etc... up to trading and avoid being screwed...

the things i do to avoid coruption is

1 - stay away from the US ship VEGA, its full of dupers and Action Replay cheating scum

2 - allways deposit your weapons in the bank before leaving a game, this way if you get FSOD in lobbys you wont lose your fave items

3 - always be weary of people giving you very rare weapons, there probably a duper.

4 - get a few good mates online you can trust aswell, and you'll eventually meet more and more legit people

US/Deneb 9 is a nice ship for legit and nice people.

Sega has done somehting so players cant FSOD other players. At least thats what a few friends told me ^^

If you wanna stay legit, name your games legit only, or else you'll get illegits all over you. (Unless you're in Deneb 09, or some other legit hangout.) And if you get any trouble, just ask here, best idea!

Yeah thats exactly it. I go through all the trouble of being legit in all my games just so I can dish out the extra 30 bucks for the adapter, 10 bucks a month so I can throw it out the window so I can cheat the game right before I get to play online. That is just my view, but your devils advocate approach is commendable.

I mean no attitude or insult. This is the wrong thread to discuss the boundaries of proof or the necessity of them. I do not have to justify myself to anyone.

Thanks for ya time and advice though, I will keep a note to myself to hide what I find till I reach what is deemed the appropriate lvl. This will save me some trouble. I will approach as cautious as I can, but I will not assume anyone with good gear cheated or got cheated unknowingly from or by someone else.

On a last note I deleted my explanation of my drop, and item combination history. This is primarly due to the irrelevance to the thread and the conflict thats arising with it. I am more then willing to talk about its ethical and moral implications about burden of proof on a different thread though.
