I have the upmost respect for any players, especially JP ones.
And I don't think he's implying all JP players, just the ones that insult you. I've never had this happen to me, but then again, I can't read perfect Japanese. Put something in Kanji and I'm lost.
It's just like JP people complaining about EU and US. It does happen, and how often have you walked into a c-mode game and been asked to leave because your English? Or "JP only" games? I think that's more racist because it's out in the open.

EDIT: And I'm not just talking about c-mode games where you have to know what each other does, where language is important. I've seen it in normal, open games.

Hmmmm, so because a very small minority of people who use an EU or US version of PSO can understand when a Japaneese player, or someone with the ability to write Kanji is insulting them for winning, using profanities, this thread is racist?

The ability to swear at someone in a foreign language they cannot understand is still offensive. Falsely accusing a thread of racism towards all people of Japan is deeply offensive to me, but then I find all forms of stupidity offensive (including my own acts of stupidity, I make no exceptions).

This thread is called "JP players who insult you", this thread is not called "All Jp players are insulting". Blackghost has made a post about people who use the language barrier, that most of us cannot cross, to verbally abuse others. If the player had been German and Blackghost could understand the language then this thread would be renamed, but not because Blackghost is a Xenophobe or a Racist, but because someone was being offensive and trying to get away with it.

As to this thread getting proggressively more racist? I've not seen anything bar positive comments (or positive discrimination) towards the culture of Japan and its people. From my own experience I've encountered lots of polite Jp players and a couple of rude ones (my deck was probably uncreative as Risu said). Godfather was called batty, not the whole of Japan. If you want to play with people who you can talk to then fair enough, communication is vital in this game. I've played with non-english speaking people, communication can be a problem, so I understand why this exception is made.

I'd like to say sorry to Marcian, but I don't feel the need to - his/her posting is completely wrong and probably more offensive than the thread itself. Marcians posting is another example of political correctness gone mad. If this form of PC is allowed to control our lives then Blackghost would be banned from Ragol.co.uk for having a racist name and painting your house white would class you as a member of the BNP or KKK. But in defense of Marcian and Grave Digger, we all make mistakes, especially if we don't read the threads properly (again I have been guilty of this stupidity).

Given I spend at least 95% of my time on EpIII playing with JP friends (including GODFATHER) on Mintaka, I couldn't care less what names I am called.

If I told you 'most JP EpIII players are teenage girls' you would probably a) not believe me b) accuse me of being racist and sexist. Big Grin
Episode III | Risu | HUct | 96% cards | 100% N-S | Highest EU Rank - 12:KING
EU epIII - CLv 203 On / 53 Off
JP epIII - CLv 74 On / 51 Off

Let's not name call.... even thought that's what this thread is about Tongue

I do believe you. In Japan, women (I know it sounds sterotypical but it's true over there) stay home a lot and cook/clean. This means they have lots of free time, so they play games. My friend plays most of the popular RPGS like Dragon's Quest as well as PSO. There are still more men I think that play these games.

UK Jester thinks that (not so) cooldude has completely missed the point, the whole point and everything including the point originally made in this thread. :S

I'd like to explain to cooldude why he has missed the point but instead methinks a trip to the top of this thread, a good thorough read and better understanding will help him to better understand what has been said. Wink

Jp players are like any other cultures:
You got some very skilled and polite players, but you got some exceptions to that too.
In my own experience, those exceptions (rude unpolite players) are however much less in JP compared to EU and US players (just visit Vega a few minutes and you will have a small idea about what Im talking about)

@ Cooldude: if you cant contribute to a post, then dont post.
