Yes, that second one would guarantee a rare monster every 512 occurrances, though... and never any other time... Tongue

Now, I've been playing lots of Ult Forest lately with my RAmar, hunting for various things. I'm pretty sure I've seen at least two (or more) thousand El Rappies. Only two Pal Rappies so far, which is believable (although slightly unlucky given the supposed 1/512 appearance rate)... but no Sacred Cloths, which apparantly is a 1/512 drop from a regular El Rappy. I've never found anything from a Barble or either kind of Gulgus, either. No Hildertors (although that's to be expected, even though I've done at least fifteen Forest of Sorrow runs in the last two weeks).

Anyway, I do believe there is something controlling the frequency of rare monster appearances, and other weapon drops as well. Whether it's BT, I dunno... but hey, I've already mentioned the theory I've been working off of in other threads.

But there'd a big difference between using a decimal like "307.763" and using the beat number as an integer (307, or 308 rounded up). Since a beat seems to last a considerable amount of time, you can somewhat plan your fights... but it'd be virtually impossible if the random number came from a decimal value, since it would change as fast as that decimal did. Of course, this is all theory... Tongue but my point is, even if BT makes a difference, it might be a futile one depending on how it's used.

the itemrt.gsl file mesures the % (example 1 - 512 or) to find the item, itempt.gsl says which file it means, weaponrandomnomral/hard/veryhard/ultimate.rel (4 different files) says which dificulty by who and where,,,, and there is a toolrandom.rel file that gives the number (example 1-512).... that it counts with algo(algo solar system...:p hehe) rithm math system

So the beat time isnt true, but it has a own file that gives the numbers randomly, which isnt in use IN the game.... so it probably takes the random numbers from some calculator inside the toolrandom.rel file that resets every time u enter a room, so it has nuthin to do with beat time!!!

... I cud try researchin more in it but i dont really hav no intresst in that....

Are you talking about the PC version or something?

Even if the numbers are in files, the method of picking one has to come from somewhere... and system time does seem like a reasonable way of doing that...

mainly the xbox version, but it is probably the same for GC too

EDIT: IF IT IS ALGORITHM IT DOESNT NEED A TIME, IT CAN COUNT IT FROM A CALCUALTION THAT RESETS!!! Smile

Oh, sorry if I sounded like a jerk there, I only read some of Kefka's insults and got so pissed off I didn't bother to read the rest of you guys backing me up... I just thought if more people knew about time-based randomizers, somebody could find out once and for all how this stuff is supposed to work. It most likely has little, if anything, to do with beat time, but there is definately some rhyme or reason somewhere in there...

read my other post, you can start new threads with the "new thread" button, also if you meen attaching a sig with your characters on it, click "user cp" then "edit signature"
