This is still not released? I watched this two years ago when a Chinese friend got the DVD when it was released in China . (I hope we're talking about the same movie here).

I personally didn't like it all that much. The characters were shallow and it had such a silly plot. Only watch it for the special effects, which are a little bit like the ones they had in The Matrix.

If you liked Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon (which had a much better plot), then you might like Hero because its story's background setting is similar. Don't let me put you off watching it--this is just one person's opinion.

I was told this was the most expensive Chinese film to date. I heard that in the bit near the end, in the shot of the few thousand soldiers outside the palace thing, the soldiers were all real people (as an oppose to being CG'd). That must've been a challenge to film.

i can beleive how expensive it is, cuz a lot of thoughs tricks look very realistic.

it was alright, they did overkill the movie with all the arrows being fired. The story line was kinda weird but it did give some good laughs and some great entertainment.
