Rock artists are filled with a bunch of imbeciles who are obsessed with porn (especially emo artists) even though they make good music at times. Even the new rap artists have some intellect, but KRS-one (metphysician) is one of the smartest writers in rap. New rap is about F'ing girls, old rap was about the Bible, power, intelligence. If you guys like rap ou have to get the Blueprint of Hip-Hop, 1989.

i personally cant stand rap myself this normally comes as a shock to people because of two factors 1.) because i am a young african american male 2.) because i am from the inner city (( i dont know who all here is from the united states or not )) but detroit is what is considered to be a ghetto . (( A place usually lacking in economy and growth where middle to lowclass income families live in clusters )) but yes i listen to and prefer rock and roll over rap anyday mostly because i see the influence the mainstream rap has on most kids my age its sad when the only time you hear kids discuss something with some intelligence or valor is when it involves fifty cent and that new g unit video or something involving fat joe. Also people seem to get the misconception about what people rap about and what they do for actual livings fifty cent is a RAPPER who raps about making money in the streets even though he works for a major record label and tries to avoid activities that would ensnare him within the legal system sadly enough most people are too wowed by another rapper with rhymes women and gold chains to realize this ((woah this turned into a rant....))

Okay, first of all, don't make a comment without proof, or it being obvious. How do you know rock artists are more obsessed with porn? The new rap artists have practically NO musical intelligence, whilst rock artists do. I know this because I have studied both kinds of music. Old rap? I've never heard of it, so I shall not comment.

Wrong, rock isn't like that. Some metal is like that, but not rock.
I personally like rock and metal, but i cant stand rap.

Rock musicians have no life, they are living in buses. They are probably not living in any area. This leads to destruction, and one of my favorite punk/emo bands are Finch, read any interview from them ad you will learn how corruptive...

I give up... have you ever seen a metal video? How come many of them happened to be demented, like Tool, or slightly pornographic like any of the cheap bands you see on Fuse (one of the crappy music channels, next to MTV). G-Unit and Fifty Cent will never have my respect, bands like those are taking NWA material and steering it in the wrong way.

How do you explain bands like The Eels then? Their subject of music is orientated around violence in America (as in how we should stop it) and drug abuse.
