The Indian Ocean Tsunami
#21
It was quite the natural disaster, even more being that was the worst and strongest earthquake ever recorded. It's really sad to see so many people suffer from it, and it's upsetting. I just feel like whatever I try to do to help won't really be enough. I have a few miserable japanese friends, sad because they lost loved ones from it. Just upsetting to think about. The earthquake was what did the most damage...the tsunami was just icing on the cake... ._.

Yeah, as Sesshomaru said, the earthquake was almost unimaginalbe being that high on the Ricter Scale, but the Tsunami wasn't all that bad it's just all those islands are so close to sea level 30 feet is practically the tallest point on any one of those islands; and yes the casulties have reached the upper 150's and lower 160's thousands. Quite a natural disaster. Imagine if the quake had been closer to land it would have torn the islands apart and then sent the tsunami to wash what was left away, or had the wave used up to the full potential of that quake the results could have been, and, would have been much, much, worse. The casulties would have been unimaginable.Sad

However, it was still a really bad disaster, and it's still really upsetting to know that there were actually twice as many fatalities as I thought there were..It's really upsetting to think that even thought I hate humans, the fact that so many can be wiped out in such a short amount of time upsets me.

Except Atlantis wasn't a real place. *slaps* Two of my best friends died in this disaster, I would rather you not make stupid relations to it, because it was very unfortunate.

Not really. He sacrificed something in order to help the asians in need out. I would say that's very honorable.

by slaphead i mean baldy & i was not mocking him, i was merely describing the extents to which he took to get that money. What he did was honourable, of that there is no question. The fact that it was also hilarious to see helped to raise even more.

Earthquakes are just one of the things in life that we have to accept, people will die, especially in less well developed nations, but if we all contribute then we can make a real difference.

It is those who could pledge money but refuse to that are the real killers, because from now it will be a constant war just to keep the poor survivors alive.
